POEM #45: PIXELS

We ride with the wind, impossible to ignore—
Grabbing the world, waiting for what's in store.
Somewhere out there, they don't understand
What it takes to hold what is not yet planned.

We live in pixels, the misfits, the youth,
Building what's left of our burning truth.
Tomorrow's too fierce - but today we'll let it be,
Before we discover what it means to be really free.

Someday, the candles will cease to flicker,
Along with the relics, the pictures, and the liquor.
Fear not - we will not die, not in our time,
For the present will forever be our fearless prime.
