POEM #36: ODE TO YOU

When light fades, eyes become futile,
Warmth will be felt, a desperate sensation.
Darkness weaves the nastiest shades,
It dreams of paths covered by blades.

Fate could ever be so cruel, a relentless ace,
Yet it gives the heart a cleaner slate.
No armored lawn nor colorful rainbows,
Just throbbing pain and pointed arrows.

Rely on the words of your new lover
To navigate the road you will walk on.
Silk swiftly moves past wary hands and feet,
As life learns to adapt to a wandering beat.
