Chapter 29 *With a smile*

"Hello"

I said as I answered my phone, pero walang sumasagot. Ibababa ko na sana when I heard music playing, na parang it was coming from the keyboards.

Maya-maya pa I also heard a sweet voice on the other line and it was singing...

Suddenly I realized it was on speaker phone and Harry was playing the keyboards while singing on the other line.

No one ever said that there's an easy way♫

Each word from the lyrics of the song felt like a direct message he was trying to tell me. His sweet voice almost melted my heart. Like the song said, there is no easy way sa situation namen but he keeps on finding ways to wash away the worries.

this sounds funny but I'll say it any way ♫

I was almost crying as I felt each lines of the song.

even if I have to fetch you everyday

Knowing that Harry chooses to stay kahit na mahirap yung sitwasyon namen lightens me up. Especially what he said after the song...

"Sab, I'm sorry" sabi nya right after he stopped playing

"Bakit ka nag-sosorry?" at syempre ano na naman ba ang sagot ko kundi 'bakit'?

"Kasi nasasaktan na kita, alam ko kahit hindi mo sabihin nasasaktan na kita at ayokong nalulungkot ka. Ayokong nalulungkot ang Angel ko"

"Okay lang, hindi na ako malungkot ngayon. Masaya na ulit ako, salamat"

"Sana lagi kang masaya, Sana pwede kitang laging mapasaya pero alam nating hindi.

Sab, can I be selfish? Can I still ask you to stay kahit masakit na?"

"I asked you to do something wrong for me, so why wouldn't I do anything for you? Hindi rin ako mawawala Harry, hindi ako mawawala"

Then for a brief second he sighed

"Sab, may sakit si Althea and she really needs me now. Ayoko syang iwan at mas lalong hindi ko sya kayang iwan dahil alam ko kung ano ang pakiramdam na may dinaramdam ka at wala nang magagawa, and ang tanging pinanghahawakan mo na lang ay yung taong nag-bibigay lakas sa iyo"

"Harry hindi ko maintindihan, anong ibig mong sabihin?"

"Hindi na importante kung anong ibig kong sabihin, all you need to know is I'm only by her side because she needs me at mahirap para sa akin to be there for her...

But you know how I get by with a smile? I get by when I see you smile. Kaya sana Sab hindi mawala yang mga ngiti mong yan, I wanna see that smile until the day I die. Habang andito pa ako, you'll be my Angel right?"

"As long as it hurts"

Hindi ko naiintindihan kung bakit ganito ang nararamdaman ko, parang may dapat akong malaman. But I don't want to worry myself dahil malulungkot lang ako and I promised Harry na magiging masaya ako. I need to be there for him, I could tell na nahihirapan na rin sya. And for some reason, all I want to do is be there for him as long as it hurts, hanggang sa kailangan nya ako at hindi ako mawawala hanggang sa sya na mismo ang mag-sabi sa akin na hindi na nya ako kailangan. Mali man yung ginagawa namen at meron kameng nilolokong tao, but we'd also be fooling ourselves if we let go now knowing na hindi pa namen kaya.

He asked me to be his angel but in return I asked him to let me be his devil.

I don't know if this world has a happy ending for us but for now I'll content myself getting by,
