Chapter 3

I woke up to my parents gently shaking me and I sleepily rose and got out, slinging the duffle bag over my shoulder and walked over to my grandpa. I got teary eyed as I hugged him, knowing it'd be a whole before I saw him again in person. I patted him on the back and my parents said goodbye to him and made arrangements to be picked up after they got back home.

We finished our goodbyes and he got back into the car and drove away.
We all looked at each other and I adjusted the strap on my shoulder and said "well...the sooner we get going the sooner we land in LA."
My mom nodded and smiled and my dad put his arm around my shoulder. "My little girl," he said with a smile. "Moving out and living on her own." I just smiled and rolled my eyes. "Dad, I'm 24. I'm not exactly a 'little girl' anymore." He just chuckled. I was gonna miss that laugh.

After we got our bags checked and went through security, my mom and I went to check out the gift shop. I got my phone out to vlog the experience. As I walked around with my mom, people noticed me and wanted a picture. The complimented me on my hoodie and told me that they loved my videos. I got the whole thing on video and I put my phone away after I finished. I ended up getting a neck pillow and a few snacks for the plane. My mom got a magazine and some snacks herself.
We met back up with my dad and decided to go to the gate to wait.
I sat in the chair that was open on the bench and my parents sat across from me. I got a notification that Mark sent out a new tweet saying that he just got home from Cincinnati. I smiled. What are the odds? He just gets back home after traveling the same day I'm moving to LA. I pulled up a Jack video and watched it. Finally the boarding for our flight was called.
We stood in the line waiting and after we got our tickets checked, we walked down the aisle to our plane. I turned around and looked behind me over my shoulder "take it all in Jess..." I thought to myself. "That's the only life you've known for the past 24 years. And now your new life awaits..."
I turned back around and then boarded the thing to take me onto the new life waiting for me in sunny LA.
