The house was busy with people cleaning and preparing everything for New Year's Eve. I was helping Mark's mom make some food. Mark was cleaning the house along with Tom.
Mark's mom was stirring a pot on the stove while I chopped vegetables. Every once in a while, Mark and I would steal a glance at one another. I blushed as he winked at me for the 4th time in a row. I stuck my tongue out at him and he recreated a dagger being pushed into his heart. I stifled a laugh to not have his mom hear. I looked up to see him still looking at me. "You're gonna get it." I mouthed to him.
A little while later, Mark's family had arrived. Mark brought me around and introduced me to everyone; his stepmom, nieces, nephews. Everyone. It was mind boggling to see all the people in the house. It was almost as many people in my family.
After everyone had gotten settled in, Mark and I were sitting on the couch talking with his stepmom. She asked us if we had set a date for the wedding yet. I looked down at my ring and smiled, playing with it. "Not yet," I said not breaking the glance on my ring. "But all I know is that this guy," I said, poking Mark's nose. "Is gonna look great in a tux!" He gave me this look as if to say "Really." I just gave him a big grin.
-Mark's POV-
As I was sitting on the couch with Jess and my stepmom, Dee, one of my nieces came up to us. "Hey..." her voice trailed off. "...Jess?" I said trying to help her out. "Yeah; Jess." she said with a slight smile. "Some of the other kids and I were wondering if you'd wanna play Just Dance with us..." Jess looked at me and then back at my niece. "Yeah!" she said excitedly, getting up and following my niece into the other room. I sat talking with Dee and then heard a bunch of giggling and cheering in the other room.
-Jess's POV-
I was dancing along with Mark's niece to "Get Lucky" on Just Dance. I kept shouting as a new move came onto the screen. Both of us couldn't stop laughing at how ridiculous we probably looked. Everyone was cheering as we nailed a few moves. I was so focused on the game I didn't even see Mark standing in the entryway. After we finished the game, both of us highfived; and I turned to see Mark leaning his shoulder on the wall with his arms crossed. I instantly felt my face getting red. "Nice moves." He said with a smirk. I was about to give him a smart ass response when I suddenly felt a tug on my sleeve and looked down to see one of his younger nephews looking up at me. I knelt down to make eye contact with him. "Hey, what's up?" I asked him. "You dance." he said. "But, buddy, I just did!" I told him, slightly out of breath. He again said "You dance." I sighed then looked up at Mark, who only just shrugged. I rolled my eyes slightly as I stood up and then I smiled down at Mark's nephew. "Okay buddy, you pick the song." He smiled as he bolted over and chose the song "Feel this Moment". I looked at Mark, pointing a finger at him. "You're really gonna get it." I told him. Then I looked back at the screen and started to dance as the game started.
-Mark's POV-
Watching Jess dance along to the song was something I wouldn't mind doing everyday. The way her hips swayed along with the avatar on the screen was sexy as all hell. Everyone was cheering as she got perfect on most of the moves. My niece who was sitting on the floor in front of me looked up at me and said, "I really like your fiance Uncle Mark." I looked down at her and smiled. "Me too," I told her. I then looked back at Jess who was still dancing. "Me too."
As the song continued I couldn't help think, "Damn...she can move!" it was almost torture watching those hips move back and forth. I had to cross my legs to hide little Mark that was trying to peek out. Jess finally finished the game and I then walked over and took her hand. She gave me this look of confusion. "Come with me..." I whispered deeply in her ear.
