I awoke in a hospital room, my vision blurry. I felt something on my face just above my lip. I reached up and felt a tube in my nose. I blinked hard and opened my eyes again. My eyes regained focus and I looked around the room. I saw Mark asleep in a chair and I saw Ryan standing watching the TV. I shifted around in the bed and Ryan looked over. He smiled. "Hey..." he whispered. He came over and hugged me gently.
"How you feelin?" he asked me.
"Like I've been hit by a bus, then a 4 wheeler, then a plane." I told him, my voice a bit hoarse.
"So, great!" he said then winked. I rolled my eyes then coughed. Ryan went over to sleeping Mark and shook him. Mark awoke and looked up at him.
"What? Whats wrong?" He asked panicked.
"Check out who's awake." Ryan told him. Mark looked over at the bed and grinned. He looked exhausted. His eyes were bloodshot and he had the darkest of bags under his eyes. His hair was slightly messed up and his glasses hung off the bridge of his nose. His smile lit up his face and he rushed to embrace me in his arms. I hugged back weakly and I could hear him sobbing.
"I didn't think you were ever going to wake up..." he said in between sobs.
"But I'm awake now..." I said quietly. I held onto him, clinging, hoping he never let me go. I was finding comfort in knowing he was there, holding me.
Ryan came over and put his hand on Mark's back and Mark stood up, letting go of me.
"I'm gonna go get us some coffee." He said. Mark nodded and then took my hand in his. He pulled up a chair next to the head of the hospital bed. I turned my head and just stared at him. He adjusted himself so he was right next to me and sat down. He rubbed his thumb on my hand and looked at me, I smiled weakly. It took all my strength to do that. He kissed my hand and smiled at me.
"I'm so glad you're okay," he said.
"I was so worried, I stayed up all night to be awake as soon as you woke up." he told me.
"But, as you can see; that didn't necessarily work out to well." he chuckled.
"The things people do when they love others."
"What...is that...supposed...to mean?" I asked. He just smirked and then let go one of his hands to stroke my cheek. My eyes became so heavy all of a sudden. I blinked sleepily and then I moved over a bit so Mark could lay down next to me. I patted the spot and closed my heavy eyelids. Mark laid next to me and held me close to his chest. His heartbeat putting me to sleep.-Mark's POV-
I laid next to her and pulled her close to me, the poor thing was exhausted. I only wanted her to be comfortable. Ryan, Matt and Daniel walked in shortly after she had went to sleep. Daniel was carrying a balloon and a teddy bear, and Ryan was carrying flowers. Matt stood behind them holding a cardboard tray of coffee. They walked in and I put a finger to my lips, signaling for them to be quiet.
"Hey," Daniel whispered loudly. "How's she doin?" he asked, looking at Jess. "She just fell asleep. She's exhausted," I looked down at her and kissed her head. "Poor thing." I placed my head ontop of hers. Ryan placed the flowers on the table next to the bed and Daniel placed the balloon next to the flowers. He then place the teddy bear aside the flowers and balloon. Matt sat in the chair and distributed the coffee. Everyone was either on their phones or talking now that Jess was out. I stayed by her side, holding her.
-Jessica's POV-
I awoke with Mark's arms still wrapped around me, his body still near mine, keeping me warm. I looked up a him and he looked down. "Hey beautiful," he kissed my forehead. "How ya feeling?" he asked me with a smile on his face. I was actually feeling better, my head still felt like it had a million I weights on it and I still had a tube in my nose supplying me oxygen, but I felt better. I hugged his side and smiled. "I'm feeling better, not great, but better." I looked around and saw the other guys there. I stretched, and slowly sat up with Mark's help. "Hey guys," I said. They all looked up and smiled at me. I waved to them. They all looked tired but not as exhausted as Mark. Daniel came over and hugged me along with Ryan and Matt. I hugged them , they all were family to me now. Mark was still laying next to me, with an arm still wrapped around me. Ryan pulled out his phone and snapped a bunch of pictures of me and the guys all hanging out.
"Can you send me those?" I asked Ryan. "Sure!" he replied back with a smile.
We were all talking, a nurse came in and checked my vitals, moving my limbs around to get the blood flowing. I winced as she was moving the limbs around. Mark took my hand as soon as she was done, trying to comfort me. I looked at him and smiled, still in pain.
"The doctor will be with you shortly." the nurse told us.The doctor came in about 15 minutes later and informed us on what had happened, what to do and how to take care of myself. He then released me. Taking the tube out from my nose and turning the machines I was hooked up to off.
The guys, Mark and I said our goodbyes since the guys were going back to their house and Mark needed to make a new key for the house. We hugged and I went in the bathroom to get changed into my old clothes I was wearing. I could hear Mark saying he'd visit them and still record videos with them. I walked out and Mark smiled,
'Hi beautiful." he greeted. My heart smiled but I was tired and wanted to sleep. I walked over to Mark and hugged him around his stomach, placing my head on his chest. He wrapped his arm around me, kissing the top of my head.
"Someone is cuddly." He said. I nodded and yawned. "Also sleepy!" he exclaimed. "C'mon sweetheart. We have to go get the new key for the house."
I nodded and dropped one arm, still hugging his back. He had his arm around my back and we walked out of the hospital room.Mark opened the door for me and I groggily got in the seat. I was putting my seat belt on, he leaned over and put his head on my shoulder; smiling up at me. I closed my eyes and almost was asleep when I felt his head move slightly. I awoke startled and he rubbed my arm.
"We are going to get a key made, then going home. Our home."
I smiled at him and grabbed his hand.
"Let's do it." I said.
