Mark and I were in the car sitting in the driveway. We had just gotten the key made and I was slightly awake, not really. I had no energy whatsoever. I felt like I could sleep for years. Mark shut off the car and looked at me. He took my hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. I yawned and gave a weak squeeze back. He stroked my cheek and kissed it. "I'll be right back." he told me. I nodded and closed my eyes again. I felt his hand on my arm and jumped. "Hey, it's okay," he said calmly. He unbuckled my seat belt, put his arm around my back, then another under my legs and lifted me up; closing the door with his leg. "I could've done that..." I said half asleep, resting my head on his shoulder. "It's fine." he said; carrying me into the house and up the stairs. He gently placed me on the bed, taking my shoes off first then tucked me into the bed. I curled up and closed my eyes. I heard the door shut downstairs then I heard him come back the stairs again. I felt him sit on the bed and I opened my eyes. He turned over and wrapped him arm around me. "Hey princess." He whispered. "Don't worry, I'm going to be here, holding you." He kissed my nose. "You just go to sleep."
It didn't take long for me fall asleep after that.

I woke up a while later to see Mark asleep next to me; his arm still draped around me. I smiled. I was still sleepy but not as much as earlier. Stretching, I moved my body trying not to wake Mark. I looked at him, his mouth parted slightly and he was quietly snoring. I slowly picked his arm up and maneuvered my way out of the bed, Setting his arm down gently, I then made my way into the bathroom. I stood there looking at myself in the mirror. My pale skin was more noticeable without the makeup. I pulled the skin that was under my eyes down and made a disgusted face. Without the makeup to hide behind, I was not that attractive. I don't know how Mark ever thought I was beautiful. I lifted up the wrinkled shirt I was wearing and revealed my stomach. My ribs poked out and I put my hand on my stomach, pressing it in. I shook my head again when I took my hand away and the stomach moved back out a small bit. I sighed, putting my shirt down. "If you just don't eat tonight," a whisper said, breaking the silence. "Yeah?" I asked, curious as to what they were going to say. "You'll be happier, you'll be beautiful." the voice whispered louder. I nodded and looked down at my thighs. They looked huge.

"What'cha doing honey?" a deep voice echoed in the bathroom. I looked up and my face turned red. His eyes were half closed and his clothes were mangled. I shook my head. "Nothing." I said and smiled. He looked suspicious and came over, feeling my sides. His hands made contact with my ribs and I closed my eyes. "Jess..." He said quitely. "Mark," I started saying. He then hugged me. "Jess, why can I feel your ribs?" He finally asked after moments of silence. My mind started becoming flooded with possible answers. "I-I-I'm vegetarian." I blurted out. Which wasn't necessarily a lie. I had never enjoyed eating any kind of meat. I was the worst eater. But I could tell, he wasn't convinced.
"So, Jessaroo." He said getting rid of his suspicious glance. "What do you want to do for dinner?" Hearing anything to do with food made my stomach churn. I just shrugged. "I don't know, not all that hungry to be honest." I told him.
