Chapter Five – Mesmerized

"I want to vomit." Victoria disgustingly exhaled.

"Let's just go." Harper chuckled as she took a sip of her hot chocolate latte. "Besides, we're gonna be late."

Tumayo na lang si Victoria at padabog na kinuha ang bag niyang nakapatong sa upuan. She really want to talk to Marcus but the guy's too busy flirting with some sophomore. Hindi kasi sinasagot ni Bash ang mga tawag ni Vic and since isa si Marcus sa mga ka-close ni Bash ay naisipan niyang baka pwede siyang humingi ng pabor dito. She wanted him to tell Bash to meet her at the rooftop during lunch.

But obviously, her plan failed. Hindi niya masikmura ang kalandian ni Marcus. Dito pa talaga siya nakipag-flirt sa loob ng school grounds. Kahit madaming tao sa cafeteria ay hindi ito natitinig sa kalokohan niya.

"I really don't understand him. Why is he such a womanizer?" Vic even crossed her arms as they enter their classroom.

"He's a boy, Vicky. Given na 'yon," sagot ni Harper.

"No. Just look at my Bash. Hindi siya basta-basta kumakausap ng mga babae. He's also a flirt but he's not like Marcus na kinakama halos lahat ng mga bumibigay sa kanya." Umupo na sila sa usual seat nila na nasa likuran. 

Hindi sila tinitignan ng iba nilang mga kaklase dahil alam nilang masungit talaga si Vic tuwing umaga. Iniiwasan nilang sa kanila maibuntong ni Vic ang inis nito.

"You sounded as if you're not used to Marc. And just so you know, hindi naman lahat ay ikinakama niya. Kapag nalalasing lang siya, doon lang siya nawawala talaga sa sarili. Remember when we were still juniors? I tried to move on with Jarvis by going after Marcus. I even dressed up like a slut, pero tinawanan niya lang ako. See? Namimili din siya." Harper shared.

"Alam mo, minsan nate-tempt akong kilalanin mabuti 'yang si Marcus."

"Don't tell me he's your type? Sabagay gwapo naman kasi talaga siya. Saksakan ng gwapo."

"Stupid. Of course not! It's just that, he's so mysterious. All we know about him is that he's a model, the only son of a politician and a playboy. I mean come on, kahit siguro ikaw ay wala ng ibang masabi pa. No one knows about his other interests, his hobbies or what he usually do during his leisure time. I bet only the Aiken Four knows."

"It's his thing. Kaya nga siya nakilala bilang si Marcus ng A4 ay dahil sa sobrang secretive niya. Lahat gusto siyang makilala at maging ka-close. Kaya nga kapag kinausap ka ni Marc ay feeling mo sobrang special mo na. Mapapaisip ka, anong meron sa akin at nilapitan ako nito?"

"Oh well, we'll never know since we're both so into his friends." Tatawa-tawang sabi na lang ni Vic. "Where the hell is my baby? Bakit wala pa siya?!"

Harper was about to open her mouth when she saw Jarvis entered the room. Gustong-gusto niya talaga ito kaya natutulala siya tuwing nakikita niya ito.

"Hey," bati ni Jarvis at umupo na sa tabi niya. Hell yeah, they're seatmates.

"Hi."
