Taylor

I scrambled out of my bed when I heard my mothers voice call me from down stairs. I rush down the stairs and make it into the kitchen surprisingly not tripping. "What?"

I was greeted with a stern look. My father was sipping his coffee while reading something on his phone. "Where did you go last night?"

The colour drained from my face a bit. What the hell do I tell them? I thought I was quite enough.

"Like around what time?"

My mom sighed, "Taylor."

"I saved someone." I answered.

"Can you be serious right now."

"I am! My friend had a little too much to drink, I wasn't going to let them drive." I explained.

She stared at me for moment, almost like waiting for me to crack. I stared back at her with a calm and collected face.

"Why don't I believe you."

"She told you where she went, let it go." My dad grumbled.

"Dan, shut up."

"Don't talk to me like that." My dad looked up from his phone.

"Stop making me look like the bad guy all the time."

"Then stop acting like it." I said before I could even process that I said it.

"What did you just say?" She seethed through her teeth.

"Stop acting like it." I said simply.

"How dare you-"

"She isn't wrong!" My dad yelled before she could.

"There you go again taking her side, letting her disrespect me."

"You attack her every second you get."

"I'm going upstairs." I mumbled while turning around and walking back up the stairs. I closed my bedroom and plopped down on my bed with a loud sigh. I can hear my parents still arguing. I grab my phone and look through my contacts. The only person from here I talk to is Calum. Oh my, I need friends. I would call Calum but how he left things last night I really don't want to face him. I see Ashton's name, my finger hovers over it. Would it be weird? I tap down on it placing up to my ear.

"Hello?" He sounds very surprised, which I probably would too.

"Hey Ashton."

"Taylor, what's up?"

"I don't know if this weird but I just need someone to vent to, and I don't want to talk to Calum right now and it's really sad but the only person I talk to is Calum." I nervously.

"No it's not weird, I'm a great listener."

"Okay great." I sigh in relief.

"Wanna meet at the coffee shop on the corner of main?"

"Okay, wanna meet there in thirty?"

"Yeah sure."

We say goodbye to each other and I plug my phone into my speakers, I press shuffle and the music drowns out my parents arguing. I jump into the shower washing everything within ten minutes. I blow dry and straighten my hair and mange to make my makeup actually look good within fifteen. It's surprising that I didn't mess up from rushing. I throw on my outfit before grabbing my phone and wallet. I walk downstairs and place my shoes on. I grab the car keys off the hook. "Where are you going?"
