Michael's POV:
I watch as she reaches her hand towards me and touches my cheek. I go to hold her hand but watch as her eyes close and her arm drops to the side of the bed.
"Kat? Katherine!?! Katherine!?!"
NO! NO. No. She can't be. No, she can't be gone. I check for a pulse as I gently shake her shoulders. No pulse. No. No. I can't let her die, she can't just die. NO! Blood....she said she would need fresh blood. My blood..........my blood could save her.
I run back out to the main room and grab the first scalpel I can find before running back to her side. She's not breathing, and has no pulse. I have to save her. I need Sarah to hurry up and get back here. I call Sarah as I try to sterilize the scalpel and my hand, she answers after the first ring.
"Michael what's wrong?"
"Listen, you're going to need to bring my blood type back to the school with you, as much as you can. Hurry."
I hang up the phone as I finish cleaning the scalpel. I open her mouth a little, praying and hoping that this works. I slash my palm open and watch as the blood starts to slowly drip into her mouth. I squeeze my hand into a fist to get the blood to flow faster. The cut is starting to bleed heavily but she still isn't moving.
"NO! No....Katherine please don't leave me. Come back to me love please. Just come back to me."
I keep squeezing my fist to keep the blood flowing, then I see her mouth twitch and I watch her swallow the blood in her mouth. I see her eyes open, not the soft green they were a few minutes ago, but the bright red. She glances at me with a questioning look before she refocuses on the blood flowing from my palm. She grabs my hand and brings it closer to her as she forces my palm open.
She licks the cut before pushing my hand away, and I watch as the cut seals itself and ultimately disappears. I look back at her and her eyes are green again, as she reaches her hand to my face. I press her hand into my cheek as I stare at her. I take the scalpel to make another cut but she stops me.
"No........Michael, don't."
"But why?!?"
"I don't deserve you Michael, you don't even know.....you haven't even asked how much death I have on my hands. You have to let me go."
"Tell me then Kat, how many people have you killed?"
"What?"
"Tell me how much death you have on your hands, and let me decide if you're worth saving."
"I......I've killed twelve lou garous in my lifetime."
"Why did you kill them?"
"It was during the war years for our tribe. I was a warrior and was in charge of defending our tribe from our enemy tribe. There was many deaths on both sides, but no one killed as many as I did. It came easier to me than to any one else. It was too easy for me to kill my enemies. Then is there is the hunts and everything I did while I was a Blood Warrior. I don't deserve to live, I don't deserve you."
"Yes, you do Kat. Everyone does things they aren't proud of during times of war. It's what they do afterwards that counts. Grief leads people to do crazy things it's not your fault love. I love you and want you to live. Please let me help you.
"Michael..........I don't want to hurt you. I have craved the taste of your blood since I first met you and if I start to drink I may not be able to stop. I........I don't want to end up killing you. I won't be able to stop, I know it. Just please let me go."
"No, Kat I can't because I love you too much to let you go. I don't believe you won't be able to stop, you're stronger than you think. You will be able to stop, just trust me and stay with me. I refuse to let you die."
