Kat's POV:

I look toward Jeremiah, because I know that even though he views everyone as his equal in this room his Alpha side will take control. Plus it seems to be his plan originally, with everyone else here just jumping on the band wagon as it were.

"My child, as you know I have been Alpha of the Angel Moon Pack for many centuries. Now that Eliza is expecting pups, I want nothing more than to spend more time at home with her. However, no one wishes to challenge me for my position as an Alpha. I am too well known for my fighting skills I am afraid. It would also go against the wishes of Josiah for me to lose the challenge on purpose, in fact he refuses to let that happen even though he too wishes to be with our link more."

I smile and nod some as I recollect the last lou garou that even talked about possibly challenging him. I had just turned 16 and was allowed to watch Jeremiah challenge him and then kick his ass in about two minutes. I also know that as much as he and his wolf love Eliza, his wolf will not want to appear weak to others by losing on purpose. I glance towards Michael and sense that he is surprised by all this. I forget that to Michael, Jeremiah looks too young to be so experienced and to be so old.

"Jeremiah...are...are you asking me to challenge you for your position?"

I sense Michael tense before his worry sets in as I say this, and I lean into his chest and squeeze his hand to calm him down. He relaxes a little but his eyes never leave Jeremiah's face and his jaw stays clenched tight.

"No my child, in fact the Elders would never allow one Alpha to challenge another without proper cause. It would lead to too many large packs in the Tribe and not enough Alphas to control all of the individual members. I am suggesting something that has not been done in many years. I am wanting you to take control of my pack after I officially resign from my pack. I have gotten it approved by the Elders should you accept it. In other words my child, I am retiring and leaving my pack to you should you want it."

"You're......you're leaving me your pack? How is that even done?"

"It is actually quite easy, or easier than it may sound. You see my child, since you were not officially a member of a pack when you defeated Raul you did not win his pack. In fact many of them have already joined new packs, mine included, and the others are simply trying to decide where they should go now. Since you do not have a pack already, I am allowed by ancient law to retire my pack to you. Of course, it is their decision to stay with you and pledge their fur to you but many of them have already said they would."

"What about Beta Thomas? He wouldn't mind losing his position in the pack?"

"My child, he has been a Beta for as long as I've been an Alpha. He agrees that he would like some time with his family without Beta responsibilities. Though he has mentioned he would like to train whoever you chose as your Beta."

I can't believe what he's telling me right now. I don't  think I've ever heard of something like this being done. This is.....whoa he's giving us his pack....our old pack before Blood Warriors. Will he let us change the name? I'm sure he would, every Alpha has their own name for their pack. This means link will be safe and protected until ceremony!!!! As long as we can't be challenged during the transition.

"Jeremiah.....would I....could we be challenged for the pack during this time?"

"My child, if you agree the Elders and I have agreed that the ceremony will happen tonight. Tomorrow night at the latest. Tradition usually states that a full moon is best, but we have decided that in light of recent events at the last full moon, the sooner the better."

"Tonight? I would become an official Alpha in the tribe tonight?"

"Yes my child, if you accept the offer."
