I reached over and hit my alarm. Almost winter break, I told myself, trying to silence the obnoxious ringing. I slowly got out of bed and got ready for my class. As I was brushing my teeth, I remembered what day it was, and I nearly choked on my toothpaste. I ran into my room and checked my phone, making sure I wasn't freaking out for nothing. Nope, I was right; it was December 4, the day I was going to see Niall again. I took a deep breath and continued on with my morning routine.

The day flew by too quickly. Of course I was excited to see Niall but I was also scared out of my mind and freaking out at the same time. Would he take me back? Would management let him see me? Would he even be excited to see me? We hadn't talked in almost a month and I missed him like crazy. As cliche as this sounded, it hurt not to talk to him or see him.

As planned, I took a cab to Madison Square Garden. It was along ride but Louis already assured me he would cover the cost. As I started to relax, my phone buzzed in my pocket.

"Hello?"

"Hey Lenn."

"Hi Emma."

"What's up?"

"Nothing."

"Cut the act. Clara told me everything," she said.

"What?" I was going to kill Clara. "How did you even know there was something going on?"

"Around Thanksgiving I asked her if you told her anything about Niall since you wouldn't tell me much and she blurted out everything." I really should learn that Clara could not keep a secret. It was not her fault; she was just too trusting of people.

"Did you tell Dad?"

"Of course not. If he finds out he was right, he'll never let it go." She had a point. "Lennon, just listen, please be careful and--"

"Hold on, I'm getting another call," I said, trying to figure out how to switch from one call to the next without hanging up on Emma.

"Wait, Lennon. Just don't get your hopes up."

"Thanks for staying positive," I yelled before switching the calls.

"Hello?" I asked, hoping that whatever button I pressed worked. The number was unknown, however, so I didn't know who it was.

"Lennon?"

"Louis?"

"Lennon!"

"Louis."

"Lennon!"

"Louis, I'm not playing this game."

"Fine, hi," he said.

"What's going on, Lou?"

"Are you in the taxi?"

"Yes," I said, taking a deep breath.

"Don't freak out. It's gonna be fine."

"How do you know?" I asked, my voice quavering.

"I don't," he sighed.

"Wow, Louis, really reassuring."

"Well, if everything goes as planned, it should be great," he said, excitedly.

"And if it doesn't?"

"Be positive!"

"What if Niall doesn't want me back."

"Yeah, okay. Lennon, he's awful without you."

My throat tightened. "Okay," I said, trying to hold myself together, "does anyone else know?"
