Shawn's POV;
I don't even know how long it's been since the last time I saw Allie was. I still remember the last time I talked to her, which feels like eons ago. I had FaceTimed her to see how things were going. Then, I heard Adam yell for her, and then she had to hang up. I've been texting and even trying to call ever since, but she hasn't answered. I'm literally going insane right now.
Aaliyah told me when I got home last week that Allie had been taken away, because Adam and Hannah hadn't renewed their fostering license. I was worried sick she'd because I haven't heard from her, and Aaliyah has been worrying, too. She's always asking me if I heard anything from her, or if she ever texted or called me back.
But she hasn't.
I swear, I'm going to loose my mind. I never thought it was possible to miss someone as much as I miss her. I can still picture her beautiful eyes and rosy cheeks, and how her face lights up when she smiles. It didn't use to when she first moved in with Hannah and Adam, but as time went on, she got more comfortable. She started opening up to me. Yeah, it wasn't a lot, but it was something, which means she does trust me.
At least, she used to.
I hope she still does, and that there's a reason she's not answering.
"Maybe her phone died and she lost her charger," Aaliyah suggests, laying on the couch and staring at the ceiling. I'm sitting on the chair across from her, but I just shrug. "Or maybe she has really strict foster parents that don't want her to have a phone? She could have lost it..."
I frown slightly, rubbing my face with my hands. These are all possibilities, but I just... I don't even know, but I have a bad feeling about this whole thing. I sigh, laying on the floor next to Aaliyah, who's still on the couch.

I wake up the next morning to Aaliyah jumping on my bed. "Shawn! Get up, get up!" She whisper yells. I groan and pull a pillow over my face.
"What time is it?" I mumble tiredly.
Aaliyah pauses momentarily to look at the clock on my side table before responding, "9:45."
I groan again, rolling over and pulling the blankets over my head. "Why?" I whine, my voice thick and raspy.
"Just get up and come to your window!" She huffs, taking the pillow away from me and slapping me with it.
I sigh, getting to my feet and following my sister to the window. I raise my eyebrows in surprise when I see two police cars parked outside of Adam and Hannah's house. One of the officers is leading Adam away in handcuffs.
"See!" Aaliyah exclaims. "What do you think he did?" She asks. I shrug. All I can think about is Allie. Where the heck is she?
•••
I spend the rest of the day in bed, just randomly doing things on my phone. Mom has to take Aaliyah to hockey and dad is going out for something now, leaving me alone in the house.
Now that I'm alone, I can't help but think about Allie. I go to my desk to grab my notebook, when I find a familiar paper. The song Mine, that I wrote about Allie. I smile slightly at the memory, partially wishing I could sing it to her. Hopefully she'd like it...
I'm snapped out of my thoughts when someone knocks at the door. I groan, getting up and going downstairs to answer the door. My eyes nearly pop out of my head when I see who it is.
Allie.
