Allie's POV;
Today is the day my life changes. Today is the day I'll be thrown out into the world, but not as a child; as an adult. I'd consider myself as mature as possible right now, since I basically raised myself. But after today I'll be able to go to college, or do whatever I want with my life.
"I can't believe it's finally time! Our new lives begin today," Faith squeals. Kelly and I roll our eyes as we enter the school. All the students put their caps and gowns on over their clothes. I had absolutely no idea what wear, so Kelly let me borrow a plain blue dress. I shrug my gown on over the dress and gently set my cap on my head. Kelly insisted on curling my hair and doing my makeup, and she continues to fuss over my cap.
"Hey," Shawn says from behind me. I turn around and smile. He's wearing a casual dress shirt and dress pants under his gown, and he looks very handsome with a shy smirk on his lips.
"Well well well, if it isn't Pickering's biggest power couple," Kelly says with a sly smirk, leaning against the wall of the auditorium. Shawn throws a careless arm around my shoulders and presses a kiss to my temple. I smile as he pulls me into his side. "Oh come on, like I didn't see you and Colton locking lips at the prom."
Faith gasps and we smirk at Kelly, who blushes intensely. "We - that's - none of your business!" She shrieks quietly, making me laugh. "Mhm," I say sarcastically. "Yeah, and I have a pet unicorn," Faith giggles.
We're interrupted by the principal ushering us all out of the auditorium and outside to where the graduation ceremony will be held. There's a small stage set up in the open grass outside the school and folding chairs set up in several rows for the parents to sit, as well as us until we're called to walk along the stage.
We're instructed to sit in our assigned seat where our name tag is taped as the principal stands in front of the audience. He taps the microphone on the podium, and the ceremony begins.
I feel myself growing anxious as names are called. This is really happening. I've been waiting for this day for who knows how long, so I could finally get away and be in charge of myself. And now, I'm not sure how I feel about it. Of course I'm excited, but I've actually started to like Pickering. I made friends. I've made my peace with my birth mother, and I even have a boyfriend. Had I looked into the future even a year ago, I'd never have believed that any of this would happen. I guess things do get better. It just takes time, and the right people.
I'm snapped out of my thoughts when I hear my name called, and my mother stands up to clap for my. I duck my head as I take my diploma and see Aaliyah snapping pictures with my Polaroid camera. She's like my own little personal photographer.
After everyone's names are called, we gather around and throw our caps in the air.
"Adulthood, here we come," Faith says with a grin.

Everyone hangs around to mingle after the graduation. The popular kids and jocks are all being boisterous and loud and obnoxious, trying to rile everyone up. Shawn, Faith, Kelly and I stand off to the side with our families, Cory and Colton joining us.
"I can't believe my baby is graduated!" Shawn's mom squeals and pinches his cheeks, making Shawn groan. I giggle and snap a picture, showing to Aaliyah. She joins in on my laughter as We introduce our friends to our parents.
Faith is the oldest of five children, as she has told us. "These are my brothers, Tommy, Reagan and Peter, and my sister Lucy," Faith says in a bored voice. Her cousin Max is also here. They're all very loud and chase each other around. Kelly's brother Michael joins in and Aaliyah just watches quietly.
"Oh my gosh, guys I forgot to tell you!" Faith exclaims after whispering cutely with Cory. "Cory and I got into Harvard!" My eyes pop out of my head and my mouth literally drops to the floor.
"No freaking way," Kelly mutters, her reaction mirroring mine. Cory smiles and laces their hands together. They're really cute together, too.
"I'm going to LA," Kelly says with a sad smile. "I'm going to miss you all so much." She pulls Faith and I into a hug. "I'm gonna miss you guys, too," I say as they get ready to leave.
Shawn takes my hand and smiles. "What about you?" Shawn asks. I shrug as more people begin to clear out and we start to walk to his car.
"I dunno," I say with a sigh.
"Then come on tour with me," Shawn says. I stop abruptly and then to face him, a smile making its way onto my lips.
"Really?"
Shawn smiles and kisses my forehead. "Take online classes and tour with me." My smile widens and I laugh a little.
"Okay."
A/N - high school is officially over for Shawn and Allie! Just a disclaimer, I haven't graduated yet so I have no idea how the whole thing works or if it's different here then it is in Canada, so bear with me please hehe. Anyway, tour adventures with Shawn and Allie await! Yay! Xoxo - Em😊💚
