Allie's POV;

"This is so exciting!" Aaliyah exclaims as her mom curls her hair. I grin back at her before getting up and standing in front of the full length mirror in the hotel room. Aaliyah and I are getting ready with her mom in the parents' room while Shawn and his dad get ready in Shawn's room. Several stylists have arrived to help make us look 'beautiful' even though I don't really like makeup.

I'm wearing a simple black dress with spaghetti straps and black heels. The heel is thankful small, because everyone knows I can't walk in them. My makeup is light and actually isn't uncomfortable, just a grayish eyeshadow and mascara. My hair is left naturally wavy, except my stylist adds a few curls to it. I have to admit, I like my appearance as I stare at my reflection in the mirror.

A moment later, Aaliyah stands beside me and gushes over our outfits. She's wearing a light purple dress with one strap and black flats. Her hair is very wavy, and she looks beautiful.

Aaliyah grabs my Polaroid camera and snaps a picture of us and I put it in the photo album.

"This is crazy," Aaliyah says as she sits back on the bed. I nod in agreement. It's hard to believe that Shawn is nominated for a People's Choice Award. (A/N - this a fictional story so we're going to pretend that the PCA's are happening now;)) He's come so far and worked so hard for this. I really hope he wins, because he deserves this.

Shawn enters the room a minute later wearing a tux. His hair is pushed up like normal, and he resembles the way he was dressed for prom. We both gush once again over the other's appearance before being ushered to the limo and arriving at the award ceremony.

"I seriously can't believe this is happening," Shawn whispers as we get out of the limo. Swarms of photographers crowd around us after Aaliyah and her parents push through, causing Shawn to grab my hand. We slowly make our way through the wild crowd and inside where the awards will be distributed.

I think back to when I first met Shawn. It's weird, because it feels like yesterday, so vivid in my mind. It's hard to believe that was about two years ago. He basically forced himself into my life, and I accepted it. I actually started trusting him. He became my first real friend. He's now my first real boyfriend. It's crazy how quickly and drastically things change. I had no expectations of anything good to come when I moved across the street from Shawn. I kept my walls up for so long, maybe they were just ready to come down. Shawn knocked them all down like a wrecking ball, but maybe it wasn't a bad thing. Because now so many good things are happening, things I never thought I would get to experience. I never thought I'd get to attend an award ceremony with a famous singer-songwriter.

"And the winner for Best Breakout Artist is..."

I hold my breath and squeeze Shawn's hand, waiting, longing to hear his name being called, while also trying to prepare myself if he doesn't win. My heart is racing and my head is spinning, and I'm not even nominated! I can't imagine how Shawn must be feeling.

"Shawn Mendes!"

I let go of his hand and stand up as Shawn's mouth drops and eyes widen. I pull him to his feel and he pulls me into a tight bear hug before going up to accept the award. I make sure to take lots of pictures.

"Wow, this is amazing," Shawn starts, still looking dazed. "This is like a dream come true for me. I've been working so hard for all of my lovely and amazing fans, and sometimes it still shocks me when I realize how many people are my fans. This award goes out to you guys, because without you all, I would be nowhere. Most importantly, I'd like to thank my friends and family for their endless love and support during this wild ride, and especially my girlfriend Allie." My heart stops as he finishes his speech and returns to his seat next to mine and gives me another suffocating squeeze.

"I love you so much," he whispers, and I feel my cheeks heat up.

"I love you more, Shawn." He smirks and shakes his head.

"Not possible. I love you most." I laugh as the award ceremony continues on. I turn to look at the brown-eyed, brown-haired boy sitting next to me and wonder how in the world we ended up so lucky to find each other.

"I'm so proud of you Shawn, I can't wen express it in words," I whisper. Shawn grins and kisses my forehead. "I know, I can't believe this." I sigh happily. This isn't the end. Shawn will only get bigger from here, and I want to be with him for every step of the way. "Just you wait," I whisper, leaning my head against his shoulder as he intertwines our hands, "This is only the beginning."

A/N - ONE MORE CHAPTER, OH MY GOODNESS! Thank you all so much for reading and being a part of this, I can't thank you enough! I'm so sappy I know, but I seriously love you all so much. Thank you again! Xoxo - Em😄💙
