Allie's POV;

It's hard to believe that summer is almost over. It's even harder to believe that Shawn is already 19. It's amazing how the time has flown this past year, and I can't believe that once September rolls around, I'll be starting college. Well, not actual college; I'll be doing online classes; but you get the idea.

Shawn lays down beside me and plays with my hair. "I can't believe my baby is starting college soon," he sighs, making me laugh. "I'm only one month younger than you," I state, pushing him off of me. He lands on the floor with a thud, making me laugh again. He pouts and climbs back onto the bed next to me, where we sit and look out the window.

We're in San Fransisco now, and our hotel has a beautiful view of the Golden Gate Bridge. We sit in silence for a while, just looking out at the beautiful city.

"So, what do you wanna go to college for?" Shawn asks. My eyes land on the photo album we've been adding to where ever we go and I smile. "I might go for photography," I tell him. He smiles and pulls me down into a laying position. "That's cool, you could be my personal photographer!" I nod with a laugh, remembering the email I received yesterday.

"Actually, I'm going to be taking online classes and the professor said that since I'm touring with you he'd let it slide since I can't pass up such an amazing opportunity." Shawn sits up and grins, wrapping his arms around me. "That's so great! Now you can become a photographer and stay on tour with me!" Shawn exclaims excitedly. I smile back before he quickly presses his lips to mine. We stay sitting on the bed, lip locked, for what feels like forever. I close my eyes and smile as we move in sync together before Shawn finally pulls away. I sigh and lean my head on his shoulder.

"We should go exploring," Shawn grins, pulling me to my feet. I agree and go to get changed into sleeveless blouse and capris, along with my worn out converse since we'll probably be walking a lot.

We decide to start close to the hotel and walk along the sidewalk. It's a fairly busy part of the city, but I still think it's beautiful. We walk along the sidewalk, which is very hilly, and just look around. Some of the houses and buildings were lopsided or crooked, and there are very beautiful pastel houses here. We continue walking and pointing things out to each other before we reach a pretty beach.

"It's so pretty, look, you can see the Golden Gate Bridge," I say eagerly. I snap a picture with my Polaroid camera and Shawn wraps his arms around my waist from behind.

"I love you," he sighs happily, resting his chin on my head. I smile and lay my hands over his, and we just stay like this, looking out at the bridge and the water and land barely visible beyond.

•••

Touring in Europe has been amazing. Shawn and I have gotten to see so many new places, places I never thought I'd get to visit.

"So, what's on the agenda for today?" I ask, looking up from my laptop. Shawn sighs, running a hand through his hair. I narrow my eyes as I take in his appearance. He looks tired, he has bags under his eyes, and his face is scrunched in worry or stress or something. I snuggle close to him on the love seat in our hotel room, hoping to cheer him up, but he just shrugs away from the contact.

"Hey, are you okay?" I ask, pulling my hair into a ponytail. He nods, staring vacantly out the window. "Yeah, just a little stress — um, tired," he mumbles. He grabs a clean sweatshirt and changes into it. I can't help but stare at his amazing body. He catches me staring and rubs the back of his neck awkwardly. I decide to just leave him alone for a while, so I hop in the shower and try to relax.

Once I'm done with my shower, I change into a warm and cozy sweater and sweatpants, since there doesn't seem to be anything happening today. I come back into the room and see Shawn laying on the bed, surrounded by papers and mumbling to himself.

"Hey, are you sure you're okay?" I ask gently. I sit on the edge of the bed and he tenses slightly. "I just need to finish this," he glares at his paper with irritation.

"Why don't you take a break? I'm sure you can work on it later," I say, gently reaching over to rub his back. His body becomes rigid and he smacks my hand away, making me jump. My heart races and I tell myself to calm down, because Shawn isn't like everyone else from my past. He wouldn't hurt me.

Shawn quickly sits up, frowning and rubbing his face. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you," he whispers, placing his hand over mine and rubbing his thumb over the top of my hand. I nod and lean into him. "It's okay. But what has you so stressed out?" He sighs, his eyes dulling again. "I'm fine, just a little..." He squints at the ground before snapping back to reality and looking away from me. "I'm fine," he finally says, but it's very unconvincing. But, I know from experience that being pushed to talk about something you don't want to talk about won't get anyone anywhere.

"Okay," I whisper, leaning my head on his shoulder. "If you ever need to talk, you know I'm here, right?" He nods, "Of course."

A/N - I think I messed the ages up since Shawn will be turning 18 after he graduates, so just bear with me bc I need them to be a lil older ;) xoxo - Em😊💜
