9-Her

Charles

I woke up the next morning, way too early! I tried to fall back asleep for a while, I don't know exactly for how long, but when I checked the clock is said it was seven-fifty-four. I hardly ever get up before nine.

I sat up in my bed and rang for a small breakfast to be made with some tea.

My butler brought in a ham and cheese omelet with cinnamon tea. It smelt just as scrumptious as it tasted.

My butler put clothes out on my bed for me to change into after breakfast.

I finished and my butler whiped my face with a soft napkin.

I walked over to my bed and unbuttoned my pajama top. I slipped it off, showing my sexy chest or that's what I hear. There's nothing special about it. It's just smooth and hard from my workouts. I put on a white undershirt and a button up shirt. I also changed out if yesterday's underwear and put on a pair of dark jeans. My stylist combed my hair and, even if I do say so myself, I looked pretty smokin' hot!

I walked out on to the balcony. The sun was up all the way and I saw a girl running. I can't tell exactly how old, but she looks like a teenager. She looked my way. I waved out of instinct, she waved back. I wonder why she was running. It's not exactly the pace you would run if you were late to something. She seems to like it! If she is running just for the exercise, why doesn't she just get her personal trainer to help her?

My intercom pinged.

"Yes?" I said into it.

"Charles, please come down to the game room after you eat and get dressed. Your father and I decided all of us should talk about the schooling situation," my mother, Queen Heather said.

"I'll be down in a few minutes," I grumbled. I was really wishing I would have a couple more minutes to myself. I hate the start of the day.

I flung my door open and slamed it behind me. It scattered all of the servants making them jump out of my way. The last thing I need is to fire a valuable servant.

I walked briskly down the halls letting my fingers trace the chair rail on the wall. I wonder if that girl'll go to the same school as we will? I want to know why she is still on my mind? If she was anything important, she would at least have an entourage, if not a limo or something. I settled with.

I can't get HER out of my head! She keeps popping up in my head! I couldn't even see her face! Ugghggh!

I arrived at the game room, dreading the long argument that is sure to break out among us. It always happens.

I knocked on the closed door before entering. Everyone was seated around the poker table. The sports equipment was stationed to the right, at the back of the room. The scuffed tennis balls, front and center, and golf clubs, which lined the wall and the actual games to the left, half of them left untouched.

I bowed before my mother, Queen Heather Rochelle Eingall, and my father, King Howard James Eingall.

"Please, do away with all formality for now, Charles, and sit beside your twin brother, James," said my dad.

"Of course," I said as I took the last available spot at the table.

Mason was seated to Dad's right, Mom on the left. Next was James to the right and Alexander to the left. That left me with the last chair farthest from the king in both rank and right now. Frankly, I prefer it that way.

"Now, lets get started, since everyone has arrived," my mother stated.

Dad spoke up, "Boys, the decision has been made. You will be going to Hiro Private Academy, period. There will be no if, ands, or buts..."

"He said butts," I heard James whisper to Mason.

He cleared his throat purposefully. "I have arranged for you to tour the school grounds tomorrow afternoon at three-thirty pm. You will be attending, no matter what. Do I make myself clear?" He said staring directly at me.

Like I'm the one he needs to say it to! The king seems to think I'm the delinquent in the family or that I'm the trouble twin everyone talks about.

"Yes, Sir!" we all reply.

"The princess of Slovakia will be joining you at the school also."

"What's her name?" Alex asked.

"More importantly, what does she look like?" Mason interjected.

"Her name is Princess Julie Gredula Strike," my mother answered the first question before addressing the next. "As to what she looks like, if you ever came to the political conferences, instead of sending your brothers, you would know."

I was very tempted to say, "Burn, and serves you right!" but I refrained from doing so. I have to maintain what little image I have, in front of my parents.

As to what the princess looks like, I don't really care, since I already know. I also know she is way out of my league.

"And don't forget boys, about the ball tonight to raise money for the orphanages in the country. A couple children will be coming from a few local orphanages. You will be paying close attention to them," my mother said dragging me out of my thoughts.

"Of course we didn't forget!" Alex said, speaking for everyone. "I've had it on my calendar for months! It starts at five right?"

"Yes it does, Alexander, so the ball doesn't interfere to much with the children's bedtimes," Dad said.

"You are dismissed unless your father has anything to add."

"You boys are indeed dismissed," the king confirmed.

...................................

After the meeting, I went back to hiding in my room. There was really nothing to do, though... So, after laying on my bed for 'bout half an hour, I went back down to the game room.

I took a look at the sports side of the room. Most of the stuff hasn't been touched in ages.

The football, tennis balls and racket, and the golf clubs are the only items that didn't have a layer of dust on them.

I looked at the baseball bat. We used to play that all the time with some staff so we could play a good game. It was so much fun. Baseball, I always had the most fun with. I wonder if that girl I saw earlier likes baseball?

I smiled at the happy memories coming back to me looking at the sports equipment.

I dug around the room a bit more and found a basketball, a frisbee, and several other items. I kept saying, "I was wondering where this went to!" or, "That's where that went!"

In the very back corner, I found a soccer ball. I didn't even know we had one. I don't even remember playing with it at all. There was no scuff marks to show we actually used it. I pulled it out and bounced it on my knee. The ball flew off and knocked over a lamp and a deck of loose cards.

"Oops!"

I cleaned up the cards and put the lamp back.

"Maybe I shouldn't have done that!" I muttered. The voice in my head was saying, "Really now, kid!"

Ahhh, sarcasm at its finest!

My stomach growled. I check the time, I've been in here for four hours! No wonder I'm hungry.

I easily forget my stomach as soon as I see something more interesting.
