Eevon
"Ms. Walker! I didn't know you would be one of the groups coming to tonight's event!" Mr. Guolse gasped.
"It's good to see you and we were invited to represent our district."
"Ahh! Well, I better get everyone in their ballroom clothing for tonight. Please line up from oldest to youngest."
I moved up to the front of the line. One of the designers handed me a simple dress and led me to a changing room. When I walked out, the designer told me to go back in and handed me another dress. I could have cared less what I look like.
I ended up in a knee length, no-sleeve, black dress. It had gold embroidery of a dragon. The tail wrapped around the bodice and made up the neck strap. I was also given a pair of black slippers.
I am given a set of elegant gloves, Please take off your, um, gloves and put these on for the event."
"No, they stay." I walked out and join the others.
When everyone had changed, we were told we could keep what we had on.
Our group lined up and walked into the ballroom. A regal looking man came over to greet us, "Welcome to the Fautgate Palace. I hope the staff has been courteous to you so far. I am Prince Dean Eingall and I hope tonight will greatly benefit all the orphanages in the nation."
Great, just what I wanted.
"Thank you, I'm Ms. Walker from The
North Street Orphanage. Let me introduce you to a few of the children... This is Janice," she motioned to the little girl who had been upset with me delaying our departure earlier. "This is Ryan and over there is Josh. Eevon is the eldest in our 'family'," Ms. Walker motioned to me.
I turned my shoulder to him.
Ms. Walker lowers her voice and I can't here what she says.
The prince said something back and rubbed his noes.
Other groups started to arrive and he excuses himself to meet them also. The ball finally commenced once donors staredt to arrive and the announcements were made.
