Eevon
I drug myself into my room, careful not to wake the other girls. Nothing, but how tired I was went through my head. I didn't even remove my fancy dress from my person, before collapsing on the bed. Never before have I gone to sleep so quickly.
I slept fitfully. I dream of a person taking a baby somewhere. The place looks familiar. The sun was peaking over the horizon, when the man laid the child on the front steps of the place along with a letter.
It is surreal, like a memory... I was a week old! How could I have remembered anything?
The man backed away, "Good luck, my little angel. I hope to see you again."
I'm jolted awake when someone touches me, I immediately grabbed the closet body part I can find and lock it in place.
"God, Eevon, it's just me!" she said.
"How many times have I told you not to wake me up that way, Asia?" I almost yell. "You could have just said my name."
"Sorry, you were just sleeping so late I was surprised and wanted to check if it was actually you," Asia explained.
"What time is it?"
"According to the wall clock, three, but you know how far it's off better than any one."
"4 hours, 47 minutes and 5 seconds to be exact... It's 10:12! Jesus, I've never slept past 8:30 before," I said amazed.
"You figured it out that quickly?" Asia asked.
"Yep, it's a gift. What can I say?"
I change out of that stupid dress and into something much more practical, like shorts and a tee-shirt, with Asia still in awe of my math talent.
I feel sleep pulling on my eyelids as we head down stairs. In the kitchen, I force my eyes open to make myself a piece of toast, then the two of us go outside. The morning is already warm and I can feel the stickiness in the air.
"Eevon? Can you help in the kitchen today? We're short on staff," Ema pops her head out the door to asks. "Unless you'd rather stay with Asia..."
"No... I'll be in in a sec," I said then apologized to Asia.
I was going to help her be a better goalie for her school. She's in the third string, but at least she made it.
"What if I help you in the kitchen in the morning and then we can practice this afternoon?" Asia preposed.
They can probably use all the help they can get, so I agree and we both head in.
We arrived, washed our hands and were immediately put to work making the ginormous salad for lunch.
Asia kept dropping pieces of veggies accidentally and I tried to catch them on my foot before they hit the floor. It reminds me of juggling.
"Asia, you need to be more careful as you make the salad," I say, just before I hear a ponk and see a carrot piece flying at my head. I open my mouth and it goes right in. I swallow without chewing.
Why did it gave to be carrots? I hate carrots!
"GGah! Asia you sent a carrot into my mouth!"
"Sorry," she says.
I ducked as another flew by. "Seriously!"
"Sorry!"
"Asia, how about we make a game of your horrible cutting skills," I suggested as I finish shredding the lettuce.
"And that is? Wait! Are you making fun of me!?"
