Eevon
We walked through the grounds outside after we got our schedules. The first thing that caught my eye was the amazing soccer stadium! Full sized grass field and over a four-thousand capacity. There were also tennis courts, track, and a baseball/softball field. Heck, there was even a ice rink. How rich is this school?
"Now all of this is open to the public until, school starts. I suggest you get some use out of it," the guide said before bring us inside to see classrooms and such. "We can start with walking everyone through their schedules."
There were a couple of people our own age, both girls and boys. We were each paired up with another student.
"Hello, I'm Jacob. I am please to meet your acquaintance, your highness."
"I'm n..."
"Let me show you around, may I see your schedule?" he cut me off.
"First, let's get something straight! I'm not a dumb-ass. Second, I'm not royalty. Third, I don't need your help.
"Oh? Well, I'd like to see you try to find your way around this maze of a school yourself."
"Fine by me," I replied. "It's not that hard after all. The classroom number is 231. Second floor, third hall from the front, door on the end."
"Wha? You got all of that just from this number?"
"Have you ever been any where? That's how all buildings are. It makes it easier to navigate... Plus there are signs all over the place," I said pointing to one of the signs.
We went up a flight of stairs and through some hallways. I entered classroom 231. It was just a bunch of desks in rows, I counted fifteen.
I look up and see a stuck up prince standing in the same classroom.
"This is where you'll check-in every morning and maybe quickly finish a forgotten assignment," Jacob says.
"Hopefully it never comes to that," I reply.
After a quick skim of my eyes I don't see anything different. "We can go now. I have seen a classroom. I'm not one of those royal pricks. Is that prince in my homeroom?"
"I believe so. You are lucky to know royalty!"
"Well, you can have it. I'm already sick of it and I've only known the guy for half a day. They are all complete pervs," I state.
His eyes go wide and I ignore him to continue to my next class.
We walk in silence, which I tend to prefer over annoying, unrequited chatter. It helps me clear my head to think properly.
A lot of people must think I'm a bit uptight. They are not entirely wrong. I am also just use to being on my own, when I find myself suddenly surrounded I feel... uncomfortable? No, crowded? Not quite right either, but you get the picture.
We go through the rest of my schedule. I end up meeting a few of my teachers. It is a tiring process, him bugging me... then my snippy comments in return. I'm surprised he hasn't gotten fed up with me and left. I was actually, kind of, aiming for that.
"So, do you have any questions?" my guide asks tiredly as we finish in the cafeteria.
"No, for now," I reply.
We stand for a bit before Jacob gives into gravity and has a seat at one of the tables. I shift from foot to foot waiting on the others to arrive, then resort to pacing.
"Although I do have a question, why is PE not listed as mandatory, but optional?"
"You still have to show up to the class, but you don't have to partake in anything. It is now optional to participate, because most people hate it and weren't showing up anyway, so they made the change," he response.
"I thought this was an elite school. I guess I was wrong."
"Like you would know anything..." he drifts.
"I know a lot more than you think an orphan would. Most of us do," I state.
"Now I understand."
"Understand what?"
"Why you put on the tough girl façade," he responded.
"Oh, well give me what you think!"
"A, you are probably picked on a lot and B, you've been though a lot."
"True, but that's not the reason," I end it there, with an edge of finality in my voice. I like him less, than I like that princess.
