Prince Charles Dean Eingall
I walked around and mingled with the donors mostly. I'm not great with children. They always talk gibberish in these annoying high pitched voices, can never understand them!
I looked over and saw Alex talking to a shy girl. He got her a glass of juice. Alex talked to her a little more and soon, I saw a smile. Why can't I do any of that?
Someone launches themselves onto my back. "Yo, little bro! Whatcha up to?" Mason yells in my ear.
"Get off!" I shoved him.
"Why are you in such a bad mood?" Mason asked.
"I don't know! I'm just don't like kids."
"Did mom tell you that we have to watch them?"
"Yeah..." I said.
"It totally crashed my party, but since we have to, go get one and just be friendly!" Mason pushed me into a small kid, about age six or seven. Don't ask me how I know, maybe it was the pink tu-tu that gave it away?
She started crying.
I asked, "What's wrong?"
She glared at me before running away. I ran after he,r since it seemed like the sensible thing to do. She ran to a bored looking teen.
She whispered something in the girl's ear. The teen looked up and saw me striding toward her. I saw a grimace form on her face.
"Hey, I just wanted to talk!" I told the little girl.
The older one says, "Take a step back... Sir." She's wearing a black dress with gold embroidery stamped upon it. It looked nice on her. I saw her hands curl into fists. I did as she said and asked no questions.
"You look quite lovely tonight, milady." The words just slipped by my brain and onto my tongue.
"Thank you, but no thanks. Your kind remarks only hide the devil inside of you and I wish to take no part in your nightly frolics and flirts, sir."
"You look familiar..."
"We have been introduced, my prince. I wish to have nothing more to do with you." The teen gently grabbed the girl by the hand and led her away.
So much for trying to talk... "But wait!" I found myself saying.
"Why?" She snaps back, "It's not like any of this matters to you! You're just a fucking prince, who..."
"Eevon..." the girl interrupted her.
"What?" she asks.
"Wait! Your that girl I saw earlier today!" I exclaimed. It had been bugging me all night.
"What!?!" they both say.
"Early this morning... I waved at you from the balcony by my room and you waved back!"
"Yes?" Eevon answer tentatively. Or rather, that's what the girl called her.
"Ha! I knew I recognized you from somewhere."
"And we were just introduced an hour ago! Let's go, Janice. Janice?" she looked around. Then looked at me with one eyebrow raised and hands on her hips.
"What! I didn't do anything!" I say. I didn't even touch her earlier!
"And I didn't say you did... Well, if you excuse me I will erase you from my memory for all time," Eevon started to walk off.
"Hey! I didn't say you were dismissed, and for talking so rude to me, I outta have you beheaded peasant!" I announced.
"Man, you should get with the times. Nothing is more ancient and despicable than a guy doing just that... but that's my opinion. You have also now been properly dissed."
I have never been so disrespected all my life! Even my own brothers aren't that bad! I don't know how she came up with such a smooth come back, but I shouldn't even try to make friends with people anymore. I am now friendless forever, that is a fact.
I watch her long, dark brown hair dance a crossed her back as she walks away. I sigh. I'm terrible at being friendly. I don't even know why I said that part about beheading her... I'm a fool.
I walked back over to some of the adults.
"My prince!" they exclaimed and bowed.
"Please continue what ever conversation you were having before I interrupted."
"I was just talking about my son, Jamaul. By the way I am Dale Hastings."
We shook hands and exchanged courtesies.
"I was just mentioning that my son was actually on time for something. It was surprising. Jamaul is actually a year older than you are, Sir."
"Oh really?"
