~Liam’s POV~
When morning came, I rose slowly. My phone rang, and I picked it up.
“Hello?”
“Liam?”
“Hi Kelly,” I said, a smile coming over my face. “What’s up?”
“Could you come over? Drew…” I could hear her crying. “He broke it off, Liam. I just really need someone to be there for me.”
“I’ll be right over. Don’t worry.”
“Thanks,” she sniffled.
Hanging up, I changed into jeans and a gray t-shirt. Skipping down the stairs, I ran into the kitchen. Daisy was sitting at the table, dressed, with a cup of tea grasped between her hands.
“Uh, hi,” I said softly.
She didn’t bother to look at me. “Hi,” she said.
“I’m sorry for what I said,” I told her.
“Okay.”
“I just wanted you to know that Kelly called me. She wants me back, Daisy.”
“Great.”
I slid two thousand dollars over to her. “This is for you. It’s my end of the deal.”
She just stared at the money.
“I’m going to talk to Kelly. I’ll see you around?”
“Yeah,” Daisy said. “You will.”
I left the house, and got into my car. Driving over to Kelly’s house, I turned up the radio and sang loudly. I couldn’t wait to get her back… Finally.
I knocked on the door, finding Kelly on the other side. “Hey,” I said. “You doing okay?”
“I’m so glad you’re here,” Kelly said giving me a hug. I cradled her in my arms, and grinned out of sheer happiness.
“What happened?” I asked.
“He called me today and told me that he was done… I gave him everything, Liam. And he just cast me aside.”
“I’m sorry,” I cooed. We were sitting on her couch, curled up together.
“I’ve missed you,” she said wrapping her arms around my neck. “I never should have let you go.”
“I’ve missed you too. More than you could ever know. What did he say?” We both knew whom I was talking about.
“Drew told me that I couldn’t give him what he wanted. Do you know what it’s like to be thrown aside? I loved him, and he just left.”
“Actually, I do.”
“Do what?”
“Know what it’s like to be thrown aside,” I said. “You did that to me. It sucks, doesn’t it?”
“I’m sorry, Liam.” She kissed me then and there. I had been waiting for this moment for almost four months. Her lips tasted of the cherry lip-gloss I used to love. Now the only thought on my mind was how much Daisy hated cherries.
