Chapter 5 - An Outcast

Talia's P.O.V

It was the next day and Tenzin and I went outside to train, today we were going through the spinning gates and we had to be like the leaf, light like a feather and let the wind carry us.
"Tenzin you've done it before show Talia how to do it." Dad said as we stood near the gayest
"Ok" with that dad sent a gust of wind towards the gates to get them to spin. Tenzin walked forward and danced through the gates.
"Ok your turn Talia, follow the wind" dad told me as I breathed slowly and calmed my self. Dad sent another gust of wind and I walked forwards and entered the gates I dodged and danced through them and gracefully landed the other side without the slightest touch. Dad was amazed at my performance and Tenzin was slightly jealous that I could do it so well. But even though he is slightly jealous he is still my over protective brother.

I still practise in my cave, Tenzin still comes and finds me. I like to practise with my bending combined.
"Come on dinners ready" Tenzin told me.
"I'm coming!" I shout over I run over to him "TAG, your it" I shout and run out the cave and hop in a air scooter and we race down the single file track then we fly up the cliff until we're on the main part of the island.
I look over my shoulder for one second and don't concentrate when I landed into a tree. "ow!"
"Haha, Tag you it" Tenzin calls as he tags me and runs towards the house. "Catch me if you can" he shouts behind him as he scoots away.
I flew toward him and used my airbending to propel my self faster forward, "HaHa! Got'ya!!"
I say as I get him and he falls over.
"No fair" he weins. "I can't fly!!" He shouts
"Not my problem, haha" I shout back
"What's all this shouting" mums asks as she runs out.
"Talia cheated!"
"Did not"
"Ok stop, I dont want to hear it" mum said "inside, dinners on the table"
"Ok mum" we said at the same time .

Although I am a water bender and an airbender, before I always abided by airbender standards, I am a vegetarian and I am a peaceful character. So I wear my airbender clothes even when I have water bending training, occasionally I change but the majority of the time I'm in air bending clothes.

It was currently Sunday and tomorrow we would be going back to school, mum told me at school to stay out of trouble. She always told me to keep on the 'lay low' about my bending as the only people who knew were close family friends or people on the island. I would go off and hide in a secret place at break and practise my two bendings.
At school I haven't told anyone but they always pick on me and are mean because I'm the daughter of the avatar and I'm a "non-bender" I haven't told anyone yet but I keep it on the down low, the one thing that Kya and Bumi has helped with is not telling anyone I can bend, no one knew, well that was until I kind of got followed, they saw me and called me a freak!

"Look what the cat-gator dragged in!!" Some big boys called out as I walked into the school, I always keep my emotions on the inside and try and ignore them, I just kept walking past as they stood there and laughed at me.

It was time to go home and we had to go to the city hall to meet mum and dad insted of the dock. Those bullies from earlier came over to me and surrounded me they picked me up by the collar."Let me Go!!" I shouted to them.
"Haha, I know the perfect spot!" He took me over to a mud puddle with his friends in tow and they dropped me. They all laughed and walked away.
I could hear Tenzin and Kya from a distance calling my name so I ran and hid up a tree. When I got up the tree I sat there hugging my knees and crying quietly.
"Talia!!" Tenzin and Kya called. "Talia!!"
Tenzin and Kya split up to try and find me. I was shivering because I was cold, wet and miserable.
"There you are Talia" Kya said reassuringly. "Come down here"
"Fine" I said shyly in a sniff.
"Tenzin, I found her!!!" Kya called across the woods. "Are you ok?" Kya asked looking down at me.
"I'm fine" I replied, it was a half lie.

We walked up too city hall, Kya tried to get as much of the water off of me as possible, but I was still cold.
