The spirit world was odd to say the least. There are animal-human like creatures, too little creatures that can range from insect to marshmallows in shape. But at the moment, in the specific place where she was, it was barren, dark, empty. There was not the usual plentiful grass or the bright open skies, it was wrong.
There was a stream and pools f water her ad there with a flat rocky surface spreading out that had a blue tinge to it and a spiral pattern around the domes of light. The rock stopped a way off spreading out into rocky out crops that looked creepy and mysteriously dangerous surrounding the area she was currently in. If she looked forward there was a tree with a purple, orange hue to it, with blackish shapes within, beyond the tree was another dome. Curiosity got the best of Talia and she walked gently towards the tree.
"Hello?" she called out hestitantly as he neared it wandering if it was a spirit. With no answer she caustiously walked closer, wary that maybe if it was a spirit they were sleeping. "Hello?" She called again, she was now right in front of the tree.
"Ravaa" said a deep voice quietly from within the tree.
"Pardon?" Talia asked the spirit within.
"I sense Ravaa within you child" the deep mysterious voice replied louder this time.
"What's Ravaa?" Talia questioned innocently.
"Not what, who" the voice replied ominously "the light spirit" the spirit shifter within the tree.
"Ravaa" Talia mumbled to herself. Something, almost like an inner feeling was telling her to leave, to stay away, to never come back "why would Ravaa be within me?" Talia asked confused
"Ravaa bonded with the first Avatar, Avatar Wan 10,000 ears ago" the voice said down to Talia "she has lived through each life, it's what makes the Avatar, the Avatar"
"B- but I- I'm not the avatar" Talia said shocked.
"can you not bend the four elements?" the spirit replied.
"No" Talia said dejectively "b- but I can bend 2" she said proudly.
"two elements?" the voice questioned.
"yeah" Talia replied lightly confirming the spirits acusation.
"are you sure your not the avatar?" the spirit asked back.
"I'm sure, after all my Dad's the avatar, and he's still alive and well" Talia said delicately and quite proudly.
"Which elements may I ask, are you able to bend?" The spirit asked
"Air and Water" Talia replied simply. "My dad was originally an Air bender and my Mum's a Water bender, she's the best healer in the south, and the whole world."
"interesting" The spirit murmured from the tree.
"Who are you?" Talia asked suddenly, quite bluntly.
The ghostly darkness shifted, as if the spirit was double checking what he heard. "pardon?" the voice asked.
"who are you?" Talia looked up at the tree curiously, "I mean, you know about the Avatar and you know about my parents, but I don't know anything about you. Are you a spirit?"
"well child I am indeed a spirit, the counterpart to the spirit of light, the avatar spirit Ravaa" The spirit replied.
"Wait counterpart, does that make you the spirit of darkness or something" Talia interrupted
"yes indeed, I am Vaatu, the spirit of darkness" the spirit, Vaatu moved closer and Talia could now make out a shape, a spirit that was a dark blacky brown with spiral patterns in orange and a diamond like shape in the centre of it, "Many millennia ago we were split from each other and I was imprisoned in this tree"
"Who imprisoned you?" Talia asked, her curiosity peaking, as she looked up at the spirit.
"The first Avatar, Avatar Wan" Vaatu replied simply.
"why?" Talia persisted.
"I tried to bring the world into a new stage, to make a change" Vaatu paused looking down at Talia, "People don't like change, so they imprisoned me"
"They must have had a reason to imprison you, as Avatar Wan probably did the right thing" Talia said boldly and sternly, "your the spirit of darkness, you probably wanted to take over the light, to rule the world in eternal darkness, taking away the freedom and the joy we have today." She continued looking directly at Vaatu before turning around and flying off in any direction that was away from Vaatu and his dark influences.
