Chapter 19 - The Journey

Talia's POV

We gathered all of our luggage and brought it outside to Appa, in the stables, well stable. We had a couple other bison, that were middle aged and younger then Appa, but not so well trained. I grabbed my bag and flew up onto Appa's saddle before hopping back off and giving Appa a big hug and flopping face first onto his head by his arrow.

"Come on guy's hurry up!" I said getting impatient.

"Calm down Talie" Tenzin said chuckling as he brought his luggage and airbender it onto Appa, before going back to help the others with the food and the other bag's with clothes in. We don't need any sleeping bags or a tent or anything like that because were staying in a house that we own down there because mum occasionally goes down there as she is the best healer ever and dad, well dad is the avatar and travels a lot. Kya also stays there sometimes it visit friends and stuff. Then there's also Uncle Sokka who lives there and Kyoshi island with Auntie Suki and Miki, they can't make it this year so it will just be us.

We left around half and hour later.
"Yip-Yip" dad said holding App's reigns. We flew out of the stable's and over air temple island making out way south.
The last time is rode on Appa was before I released/ showed my air bending to my family, so I never got the chance to do this....
I stood up on the saddle and Kya looked at me weirdly. I walked towards the edge, closed my eyes spreaders my arms apt and jumped off the edge. Laughing at the supposed gasps from my mum as she forgot I could fly, and at the feeling of freedom. I soared up, in level with the Sadle did some flips and then flew next to Appa's head and streaked his soft fur above his nose, he gruffed (you know the noise that Appa makes) and I laughed and flew off to the side again and lounged lazily floating an my back in the air. I then saw a cloud and wanted to knowing what the felt like, so I flew over to it and did an excited squeal as I dived into it and through it. I came out soaking wet. I grapes as I landed and dropped water all over the saddle.

"Clouds are wet" I stated glumly.
Dad laughed from his spot upfront.

"I learned that one when I was younger" mum chuckled at this as well when she took the water out of my clothes and hair. I sat back down, my feet and legs crossed before relaxing and curling up on the corner of the saddle and starting to fall asleep as it was starting to get dark.

I woke up a bit later to Tenzin shaking me awake.

"Talia wake up"

"Huh" I stretched and got up noticing we had landed but not in a frozen ice filled place. "Where are we?"

"We have stopped for a break on an island somewhere, there's as village just down this track" Tenzin informed me pointing down said path.

"Ok" I nodded sleepily.
We hopped off of App's back and made our way to the village.

After having down food and hopping back in Appa we continued our way to the southern water tribe to attest the Glacial Spirits Festival.
