Chapter 33 - A New Age

Talia's POV

I spent the next month at the south pole. Mostly getting accustomed to some of the changes. Though I was still ignorant to some of the events that had taken place in my absence. I did know however, that the southern water tribe city had grown, significantly. Most of the time I got lost, so the easiest way I found to solve that was to just bend up onto a roof, air or an ice pillar worked fine, find where I was trying to go and return to the ground or roof hop. Simple. Though mum told me that I should try and walk the street more, less jumping around in the air, to work my way around. The fact that dad was gone was something I struggled to grasp at first. It didn't feel right and I wasn't exactly sure what to do sometimes, though mum helped me whenever needed, and I'm trying to work out if there is a way I can connect to him through the sliver of Raava's essence within me. It's taking awhile, and it seems like a difficult thing to grasp but I'm trying.

Another thing that happened, mum decided to sign me up to Water Bending lessons. Which was another reason she told me to walk more, as how I ended up with dual bending was still a fair mystery (other than the little part of Raava's essence that was tethered to me), and some people may see it as a threat, or just something odd. Though she did tell me to embrace my dual bending, but sometimes not jumping into double bending may give me an upper hand in some situations. My water bending, and healing sessions from mum and another master during classes were coming along, I was getting very good at both. Obviously I was still practising and developing my light bending, I used it during my water bending lessons to hide my tattoos, to draw less attention. I mean I was an airbender waterbending in those classes. I wanted to seem, act and be treated like a normal waterbender girl.

Tenzin and the others were all in republic city on Air Temple Island living on and relaxing after the whole Unalaq ordeal. Once I was settled back into the material world, I had decided to was going to go and join them all at my old home. Tenzin, I was told had two other children, both young siblings to Jinora, and from the snippets I have been told I'm interested to meet them.

I was on my way to returning back to home. 'Home' that was nice to say, I travelled around the spirit world, and didn't really have a home per-say. "Mum! I'm Back" I called in as I opened the door taking off my outer coat and hanging it on the coat rack, okay so I used my airbending to gently jump up off the ground slightly to reachb. I walked into the main room where I heard a call of 'In here', I walked into the room smiling as I saw mum. She had a letter in her hands. "Who's that from?" I asked curiously going over to try and peer at it.

"Its from Bumi and the others" she explained with a smile "Bumi is an airbender" she told me with a smile.

"Bumi's an Airbender?!" I asked surprised with a smile. She nodded. "Awesome!" I said excitedly.

Mum chuckled lightly at my reaction "They also say that someone else from the city has acquired airbending" she continued my mouth dropped, what?, t-that's impossible? my thoughts were unsure what to comprehend at that moment "They think it has something to do with the energy released during Harmonic Convergence" Mum continued explaining I nodded, stunned, whoa cool.

"Does this mean they'll be more airbenders?" I asked softly and slightly hopeful, mum nodded.

"The air nation can be re-born" she said whimsically "It was your Dad's dream, and its coming true" she said happily with a sort of happy, yet sad smile. She pulled me in for a hug, one I gladly accepted.

Afterwards Mum had told me how they wanted me to join then and help find new airbenders within the Earth Kingdom. They had already started their journey, and were going by giant airship, courtesy of Asami, on of Korra, Bolin and Mako's friends. They had listed the locations they were visiting and when they expected to be there and so on. She handed me the paper so that I could keep it and refer to it. As we started packing lightly for the trip, I looked over the different places a couple they would have already been to at this point. It was so interesting, new airbenders!

We finished packing, a small light backpack, watertribe blue, me and mum walked to the port, and hugged saying goodbye, or rather a see you later, I also said goodbye to Korra's parents as they helped me get re-orientated with the world and were very kind. I smiled and waved as I boarded the boat. Maybe I should get an airbison from one of the sanctuaries, that would be amazing. Yeah I should look into getting my own, I've always dreamed of having one, a friend like that but couldn't as I got trapped in the spirit world, and I would be quicker and more fun to travel. I smiled shaking my head out, as I went to one of the open decks waving down to mum and Korra's parents as the boat left the port towards the earth kingdom.
