***Evan (P.O.V.)***
"How are you feeling man?" I asked Ray at the hospital.
"I feel great." He answered, trying to sit up.
I rushed over to him and helped him sit up.
"You don't look so great," I said, looking at his head bandage and broken arm.
He chuckled, shaking his hand.
"But how did you end up in this mess?" I asked suspiciously.
"I-I-I-Uh-Uh-" He said nervously.
"What's wrong? You okay?"
"Um..um...I really like this girl, and uh.. she.."
"A girl? Are you telling me a girl is responsible for your condition?"
"I like her."
"Then what's the problem? Does she not like you?"
He sighed heavily.
"I don't know." He said. "She...um... she broke up with me on the night of my accident."
"Wait.. what!?" I exclaimed. "You were dating someone and kept it a secret from me?"
"I know... I know..., but she wasn't ready for everybody to learn about our relationship. And then I don't know what happened, but she just ended everything. I was agitated, so I drank a lot that night."
Ray still looked upset.
I have never seen him like this.
I am always the one who drinks so much that I have no control over myself and all the stuff I do under intoxication.
Ray, on the other hand, is always the mature one.
The one that never drinks so that he can come to my rescue when I'm in a big mess.
This girl must mean something special to him that he almost died for her.
See, this is why I don't like weaknesses.
When a person has a weakness, they always fail and lose.
Ray almost lost his life because of a girl.
I would never let my life come down to that.
Brittany indeed means a lot to me, but not to a point where I will even lose my life for her.
I don't need that kind of weakness because it is ridiculous and useless.
"Who is she?" I asked. "I mean, does she go to our school?"
"No, you don't know her." He said. "She doesn't go to school."
"What do you mean?"
"She already graduated high school."
"Then where and when did you meet this girl?"
Ray got lost in his thoughts after he heard that question.
I decided to let it be since the question bothered him so much.
"Forget that," I said, changing the topic. "The good news is that the person that hit you with the car is a girl who happens to be going to Clairemont."
"That's great!" He said excitedly. " I can't wait to meet her. I r-"
"Woah, calm down. What the hell is your problem? Why are you getting so excited?"
"She saved my life."
"What!? Saved your life, my foot! She almost took your life, not saved it."
"But she is the one who took me out of my unconscious state and brought me to the hospital."
