Faith (P.O.V.)
I got up this morning feeling very lazy.
Somehow, I felt like I was going to have a bad day.
I went downstairs for breakfast.
When I got to the kitchen, I saw tension between Dad and Keisha.
"What's going on, grandma? dad?" I asked curiously.
"Nun ya business, so step out of it." Keisha scowled at me.
"NO!" Dad yelled, making me jump. "This is her business. She is part of this family as much as you are a young lady, and she deserves to know what her sister is doing behind the family's back."
"What do you mean, dad?" I asked, looking confused.
Keisha had pushed Dad's button before, but I had never seen him this angry.
"I work hard for this family daily, and your sister wastes my money like she is earning it. Keisha has been withdrawing money from her savings account and is not telling me what she is using all that money for."
"What?" I exclaimed. "What the hell, Keisha? The money is in the savings account. What the hell is your problem?"
"It is my savings account, and it sure as hell don't concern nobody on what the f**k I do with it," Keisha answered bitterly. "It is nobody's business what I do with it and where I spend it. Shit, I don't owe anybody any explanation."
"Your money?" Dad asked angrily. "This is my money. My hard-earned money that I save for your future. I earned it so both of you can have a safe and secure future."
"Keisha, this is ridiculous. This is insane. What the hell? Dad works so hard to support this family. He is a dad, a friend, and also a..."
I stopped as it was hard for me to finish the sentence.
I knew what I wanted to say, but it was hard.
"And a what!?" Keisha exclaimed. "Huh!? You can't f**king finish it? The only thang that's ridiculous is you. You the one that shattered this family. We are in this condition because of you, Faith. You ain't gone stand there lecturing me pretending to be Ms. Perfect when we all know how shallow and selfish you are. Don't preach, girl. Jus' don't get me started, else shit gone get real up in here."
The house was silent.
Everybody was speechless.
I couldn't say anything.
I stood there as tears welled up in my eyes.
I knew she spoke the truth no matter how much I tried to deny it.
Every word she said was accurate, and I knew that deep down inside.
Dad and grandma believed it, too, but were hiding it.
"Keisha, enough!" Grandma yelled, breaking the silence. "I've had enough of your rude behavior, attitude, and language. I've had enough. You have no right to speak to your father and sister like that. Stop blaming other people and take responsibility for-"
"Responsibility for what grandma?" Keisha interrupted. "My actions? What about yo lovely granddaughter? Has she ever taken responsibility for her actions? Shoot. Ya'll jus' some haters. Ya'll are biased. Fvcking biased. I get yelled at for anything, but she gets away with breaking ya'll lovely family. What the f**k does-"
"STOP!" Dad yelled. "Get out of my sight this very moment."
Keisha just stood there, adjusting her hair.
"I said leave Keisha!" Dad continued.
"Fine!" Keisha said. "Anyways, I ain't finna waste ma morning arguing with ya'll."
