*** Flashback ***

"Please read about the four different market structures and complete the chart that goes with it."  Mrs. Navrah said as the bell rang, dismissing us from the day's last class. "It's due right when you guys walk in class Monday morning."

I got my bag and headed for my locker as I needed the economics book for the homework that Mrs. Navrah assigned.

Somebody tapped on me as I struggled to pull the book out of my locker.

I turned around to find a girl behind me.

She had short brown hair and brown eyes and was slightly taller than me.

"Hi." She said with a big smile.

"Hey," I said confusedly.

I wasn't quite familiar with her face. I didn't remember seeing her anywhere.

"Sorry." She said. "You must think I'm weird to just tap on you like that."

"No, it's alright," I said with a weak smile.

"Actually, my name is Myra."

"Nice to meet you. I'm Faith."

"That's a nice name."

"Thank you."

"I'm new here. I just felt a little lost here, and that's why I thought of talking to you. I didn't mean to freak you out."

"No, it's alright. I know what it's like to be the new girl at Clairemont."

I finally removed the book and closed my locker.

We both started to walk.

"Really?" She said.

"Yeah, I came here two months ago," I said.

"Not very long ago."

"Yeah, it isn't."

"How is it here?"

"It's not too bad. I didn't like it at first, but it was because I didn't go out as much. Other than that, the place is pretty decent. Well, as long as you steer clear of some annoying people. "

"Cool, it's been a week since I came here, and I still can't find myself adjusting. My parents already have, though."

"It's alright. You'll get used to it soon."

We were walking silently for a moment.

"So, have you heard of anybody named Owens here?" She asked, breaking the silence.

I sighed heavily.

"Unfortunately, yes," I said.

"Why do you say it like that?" She asked.

"It's complicated."

I don't even know the girl, so why will I tell her things?

As much as I hate Evan, whatever happens between us stays between us.

Other people have no right to interfere or know about our matters.

"Those are the people my parents befriended," Myra said. "I thought I could befriend their daughter, too."

"Daughter?" I asked confusedly.

"Yeah, my parents told me to befriend an Evie Owens or something similar. I wasn't paying attention."
