"Why do you think she has two identities?" Zack asked after we got out of Mr. Reddy's house.
"It's strange," Evan said. "There has to be a reason for it."
"Well, I'll look her address up. Hopefully, I find her this time."
Evan nodded his head, dialing a number.
"Hi," He said. "Did you call me?... Sorry I couldn't answer...Why did you call...What?...And when did this happen?... What did you do?.... Is he still there?... Really?.... Okay, calm down...Calm down and relax...I will be there in ten minutes...Yeah, I know...I will...Don't worry about it...Just relax and stay close by...Okay...I will be there as soon as possible..."
Evan sighed heavily, hanging up.
"What's wrong?" I asked, putting my hand on his shoulder. "You look worried."
"Something is up with Ray." He said concernedly. "His mom is stressed. I need to go see her."
"Don't worry. Everything will be okay."
Evan nodded his head.

When I got home, Grandma was in my room with her arms crossed over her chest.
"Hey," I said, putting my bag down.
Grandma looked at me angrily.
"What's wrong?" I asked, taking my uniform out of the closet.
"I should be asking you that question." She said coldly.
"What do you mean?"
"What is wrong with you?"
I looked at her confusedly.
"I am getting calls these past couple of days," Grandma said.
"What kind of calls?" I asked.
"Calls regarding you missing class. Sometimes 5th hour, other times 6th. What is going on? Why are you skipping class?"
I sighed heavily, running my fingers through my hair.
"You are lucky that Alan ain't the one receiving them calls," Grandma said. "I managed to get them to call me and not him whenever somethin' happens at school. Your relationship with your daddy is already messed up, and your actions ain't gone' do anythin' but make it worse."
"I know," I said. "And I'm not skipping class. Well, at least not on purpose."
Grandma sighed, shaking her head.
"I know you're disappointed, but it's just that one of my friends is in a huge mess," I said. "His life is getting ruined, and there is nothing that he can do about it. I am just trying to help him out of it."
"I just don't understand why you must miss class to help a friend." She said. "It makes no sense that you are lettin' somebody else disturb your education like that. What kinda friend needs help durin' the damn school day?"
"It sounds confusing, but trust me, Grandma. I am not skipping class on purpose. You know, I've never been the type to do that. Whenever I do that, then there is a reason behind it. I can't tell you what my friend's problem is now. But please trust that I am helping a friend out."
Grandma sighed, easing up.
"I trust you." She said. "I just don't want you to get behind on your studies for somebody else and make Alan angrier."
"I'm not behind on anything," I said. "Don't worry about that. And the problem will also be fixed very soon, so I won't miss class anymore."
Grandma hesitantly nodded her head, leaving the room.
