Faith (P.O.V.)
I have never been to a wedding as dramatic as Lisa Owens's.
The reason why I'm saying this is because there was so much tension in the air.
The bride and groom were happy and deeply in love, as were the groom's parents.
But, the bride's side was something else.
Just by the look on her parents' faces, it was evident that neither was happy about the occasion.
I couldn't quite read Mrs. Owens's expression, though.
One moment, she seemed happy for her daughter; the next, she seemed unhappy, and this only happened when her husband was next to her or looked towards her.
The unhappiness on her face looked like it was forced on there.
Despite the hatred from the Owens, the wedding went on.
Then, I noticed a change in Evan as he wasn't himself.
Things between him and his dad looked intense.
He seemed worried throughout the whole wedding.
His mind and attention were somewhere else.
Something was bothering him.
I knew and felt it, but he wouldn't open up to me.
He has not talked to me since then.
He doesn't answer my messages or calls or attend school.
I wanted to go to his house, but it would be strange, so I avoided doing that.
I wonder what's happening with him and why he is behaving so strangely.
"Why are you making that kind of face?" Grandma asked, walking into my room.
I sighed heavily, setting my phone down.
"I don't know," I said, feeling frustrated. "It feels like people just don't want me to be part of their life."
"What people?" Grandma asked, sitting next to me.
"Evan has been avoiding me so much lately," I said. "He doesn't answer my calls, respond to my messages, or come to school."
"Did you two fight?"
"No, we didn't fight."
"Then why is he avoidin' you?"
"That's what I don't understand. I don't get why he is behaving so strangely."
Grandma sighed, shaking her head.
"Mary has also been acting strange," I said.
"How?" She asked.
"She's been doing the same thing. She doesn't answer my calls, reply to my messages, or attend school."
"Hmm...."
"It's so strange. Both of them seem like they are avoiding me."
Grandma looked around and then gestured for me to lean forward.
I looked at her confusedly, leaning in closer.
"They're hookin' up!" She whispered.
"What!?" I exclaimed.
