Evan (P.O.V.)
I feel like I'm in a crime serial.
All morning, I have been at the park where the attack took place.
I've been searching but haven't found any evidence to help find the attacker.
This is precisely why I always attack openly.
Attacking sneakily shows what kind of coward a person is.
Whoever did this is a big coward.
However, this person is intelligent, too, because of the way everything was planned out.
There is not one piece of evidence that got left behind.
I gave up on searching the park and was about to leave when something caught my eye.
It was the place the attacker had been standing the night before.
I must not have noticed it because it was in the sand.
I pulled it out of the sand.
It is a round gold earring.
This means that a girl did this. She must have dropped the earring when she ran away.
But which girl is it that hates Faith up to the extent that she would try to harm her with acid?

"An earring!" Ray exclaimed during lunch.
"Yes," I said. "I found an earring right at the spot the attacker stood last night."
"So that means a girl did all this."
"Yea. Did you match the handwriting?"
Ray sighed at my question.
"Yeah, but this handwriting does not match anybody we know," Ray said.
"It's almost as if the person wrote with their bad hand," I said, examining the note.
"What do you mean?"
"Maybe the person who wrote the note is right-handed but wrote with the left hand. Or it's a left-handed person who wrote with the right hand."
"No wonder why the handwriting didn't match anybody's."
"Exactly. The problem is, what if the girl doesn't go to our school? And even if she does, so many girls go to Clairemont. How do we know which girl did this?"
"Yeah, and at this moment, so many girls are upset at her about the whole 'boyfriend stealer' thing you started that it's impossible to find the culprit."
I rolled my eyes in annoyance.
"Evan, why did you do that?" Ray asked seriously.
"Why did I do what?" I said.
"The whole drama in the hallway. It was very wrong."
"Look, you are my best friend, and I appreciate your concern towards other people, but just stay out of it."
"Why Evan? Why should I stay out of it?"
I sighed, putting my hands in my pocket.
I started to get irritated.
