Evan (P.O.V.):
I am on a search today for Ray.
Lately, he hasn't been himself.
He has been behaving very differently.
I haven't seen him behaving like this in a while, and after what he has done to Faith, I'm not even angry at him.
I'm just really worried about him.
I went to Ray's house when school was out.
He wasn't home, but his mom was.
"Evan, have a seat." Mrs. Wyatt said.
"How are you?" I asked, sitting down.
"Oh, I'm doing wonderful. How are you?"
"I'm great."
"How are Dave and Dianne?"
I sighed when she mentioned my parents.
"Are they getting ready for Lisa's wedding?" She asked.
I nodded my head with a weak smile.
The truth is, the Owens don't even care about Lisa's wedding.
She is struggling alone to get everything ready.
I would help, but I don't have time for that.
Johnathon and his parents are cooks, and the Owens don't consider that a job.
They believe that if a person is not into business, that person is not worthy of them, so they don't care whether Lisa marries Johnathon.
They are waiting for the day she leaves Johnathon so they can marry her to the son of one of their business partners.
"You haven't been around much." Mrs. Wyatt said. "I was starting to miss you a lot. Before, you never went one day without coming over here."
"I know, I have just been swamped," I said.
"How are you feeling from the accident? I heard about it, and I even wanted to come see you, but you were taken to a private hospital."
"I'm good and have recovered now. Even though you didn't come to see me, I know your prayers were with me."
Mrs. Wyatt smiled at me.
"Ray's not home?" I asked.
Mrs. Wyatt frowned upon hearing Ray's name.
"Evan...Honey, I am so worried about him." She said. "He hasn't been himself."
"I know," I said. "He's acting so strange. I want to know what's happening with him, but he's distant and weird."
Mrs. Wyatt sighed, looking very tense.
"Evan...."She said nervously. "Do...Do you think...Do you think he is on those things again?"
Mrs. Wyatt looked at me as if I were the solution to all her tensions and problems.
"No, I don't think he is." I lied.
She is already so upset and worried.
She would have been more worried if I told her I suspected he was on something, so I'm just trying to ease her tension.
"Then why is he acting different?" She asked.
"He's just...um...He's having a rough time, but it will be okay." I said. "I'll make sure nothing goes wrong with him."
"I hope that you do because Ray is starting to worry m-"
My phone rang before Mrs. Wyatt could finish her sentence.
