Faith (P.O.V.):

"Evan, what are you talking about?" I said, catching up to him.

"There's a recording from March 2." He said.

"What recording?"

Evan sighed heavily, stopping.

"That's why I'm going there." He said, sounding annoyed. "To find out what kind of recording it is. Why do you have to ask such a dumb question?"

I rolled my eyes at him.

"How do you even know if the recording is real?" I asked.

"What do you mean by if the recording is real?" He said.

I shrugged my shoulders at him.

"I don't know," I said, crossing my arms over my chest. "You're the one who says there's no such thing as loyalty in this world, and lately, nothing has been going in our favor. What if this recording is just meant to misguide us?"

"Faith, come on!" Evan said. "Leslie is still in jail, and Brittany is too upset to do anything. The recording can maybe come to use. If we miss this chance, then Brittany will get away with everything she has done."

"How can you be so sure Brittany is too upset to do anything? Last time, we thought that she brought cops to arrest me."

Evan sighed.

"Stop making this more difficult than it already is, Faith." He said.

"I'm just saying," I said. "We can't just trust anybody."

"What is the harm in at least checking it out?"

"And what if it's not what we think it is?"

After everything that I have been through in the past couple of days with Brittany, Myra, and the acid, I don't have the heart to trust anybody else or anything else.

The police are already getting bribed. They are not trustworthy.

How can we be so sure this person with a recording is telling the truth?

"Just stop being so negative," Evan said. "Why do you have to be negative for everything?"

"Because there's no way out of this!" I said in frustration. "No way at all! Even if this recording is real, what is the guarantee that the police will believe it? What is the guarantee that they will be in our favor? What is the guarantee that my name will be cleared? My dad will forgive me? People will no longer consider me a criminal? And if this recording is fake, I just got my hopes up for no reason! I don't want to get my hopes up and watch them fall! There is no use in looking at a recording we're unsure about!"

Evan sighed heavily, running his fingers through his hair.

"Faith, calm down," Evan said, putting his hands on my shoulders. "Just relax, okay? I understand how you are feeling, but there's no harm in checking the recording. Even if it's not what we need, we will find something or the other to expose Brittany. We need to do this together. How are we going to do anything if you are being so negative? For once, think positive."

"YO, EV!"

Evan rolled his eyes, removing his hands from my shoulders.

"EV, YOUR BACK!" Mason Wilhem yelled, approaching us with two other friends.

"Yeah," Evan said.

Mason just got here, and Evan already looks irritated.

"Welcome back, man!" Mason exclaimed, hugging Evan.
