New Year, New Story! Happy 2016!
Chapter 1
'"Cause it's you and me and all of the people with nothing to do, nothing to lose
And it's you and me and all of the people
And I don't know why I can't keep my eyes off of you" - You and me - Lifehouse"Becca, come on you've got to wake up." A male voice said, tugging on the comforter that was wrapped around me like a cocoon.
I groaned and swatted his hand away.
"Becks," my best friend Austin said a little bit more sternly this time using my nickname. "It's your first day of senior year and you're going to be late if you don't get up now."
"But I don't wanna!" I whined. "What are you doing awake anyways Austin? You're homeschooled so you don't have to get up until noon."
"You know I always cook you breakfast on you first day of school. And I don't get up at noon everyday thank you very much." He said.
I sighed, knowing that I probably should get up or I'll be late and the smell of bacon and pancakes filled my nose making my stomach rumble.
I peeped an eye open to see my blonde haired best friend smiling down at me as he sat on the edge of my bed.
"Breakfast is getting cold, hurry up." He got up and heading out the door, leaving me alone to get ready.
I reluctantly got out of bed and turned to my closet. It's always so hard to pick out an outfit for the first day of school. Luckily, I had sorta an idea of what I might wear since I went shopping with my only friend at school, Vanessa.
I picked out a pair of light blue jean shorts and a cream tank top with a plaid shirt to go over it. I left it unbuttoned and got a necklace to go with it.
I ran a hairbrush through my blonde hair and hurriedly straighten my hair with my flat iron.
About thirty minutes later after I finished with my hair and put on some light makeup, I pulled my vans on and ran down the stairs to eat.
Austin was chatting with my little brother Reece who is in fact named after Austin's last name. My parents love the Reece family so much that they wanted to name my little brother after them. My little sister Cate was sitting there as well. Reece is ten and starting the fifth grade today and Cate just turned six and starting first grade. They go to a different school than I do so my mom always drives them whereas I drive myself.
Reece and Cate both have brown hair and favor my mom and I have blonde hair which favors my dad.
"Finally, you're awake. I thought you might have died." My annoying little brother said.
I scowled at him and continued my way of fixing a plate of Austin's delicious pancakes and bacon. As you can tell I'm not a morning person.
Austin chuckled and got up from his place and towards the refrigerator. "Milk or orange juice?"
"Milk," I replied taking a bite out of the delicious pancakes. He poured me a glass and sat in front of me where I was eating at the bar. He leaned against the bar and looked up at me.
"You ready for your last first day of school?" He asked.
I shrugged, "I guess, it's one day closer to getting the hell out of here."
He gave me a pointed look, "Chill with the attitude, your siblings are in here."
"My life would be so much easier if I was homeschooled like you. Why couldn't my parents let me like yours let you?"
