Chapter 25 Part 1

*Important Author's Note at the end. PLEASE READ!!!*

"You lift my feet off the ground
You spin me around
You make me crazier, crazier
Feels like I'm fallin' and I am lost in your eyes" - Crazier - Taylor Swift

I admired the beauty of my prom dress that was hanging in the closet. I almost didn't want to put it on, because it was just so pretty to stare at. This year for prom, I decided to stray away from the traditional dress. Instead, I picked out a short two piece dress. Its hot pink and has sequins all over the top, which stops just above my belly button.

As much as I love staring at this glamourous dress, I only have three hours before Kyle is picking me up for prom. Vanessa is on her way over here so we can both get ready together. Her date, who was a year younger than us was picking her up here instead of her house. Her date and Kyle are teammates so they agreed for all four of us to ride together. I was surprised Kyle was so willing to be away from his friends as far as riding to prom together and everything. However, we are having the after prom party at his friend Drake's house. I remember going to Drake's house a couple of months ago and meeting all of Kyle's friends. The party was wild, and I remember that was the first time I danced with Kyle. I think that is when I went from just having a silly crush on him to actually having feelings for him.

"Finally, you're here." I said when Vanessa busted up in my room, her hands full with bags. I made her in charge of all the makeup products since I wasn't the master in that department.

"I'm sorry!" She hurriedly started pulling everything out. "My mom was grilling me about tonight since she's not getting to see me." Vanessa's mom is a nurse and sometimes she works night shifts. Tonight must be one of those nights.

I watched Vanessa scurry around the room, trying to get everything out of the bag and ready. I could tell she was stressing out and even though I kind of was too, we still had plenty of time to get ready before our dates arrived. One thing that I have learned about prom, is that it can be very stressful trying to get everything together. But everything always ends up coming together and working out. No need to freak out and stress.

"Vanessa," I said, getting her attention. She stopped and looked at me. "Breathe, it's going to be okay. We got time." I laughed and she did too when she noticed how crazy she was acting.

"You're right," she said as she plopped down on my bed. "My mom was just stressing me out saying I won't have enough time and all this crap." Typical Marcia, getting her daughter all riled up like this.

We begin to get ready. Vanessa and I took turns doing each other's hair and makeup. As she was doing my hair she spoke up, "Are too nervous about tonight?"

"I don't know," I said truthfully. "I mean, yeah maybe a little bit. But then again, it's just Kyle."

She continued to curl my hair and I looked at her through the mirror. If anything, she looked nervous. This is Vanessa we were talking about though. She's the one that's never nervous.

"V, you okay?"

"Yeah," She smiled. "I'm a little nervous,"

"That's understandable. You don't really know your date that well so it's normal to feel nervous about going on a date with him. At least you'll have me if things go bad."
