Chapter 21

"Falling in and out of trust
Trying to rekindle us
Only to lose yourself
But I won't let me lose you" - Mark my Words - Justin Bieber

*Matt's POV*

I fucked up pretty badly with Becca and it was haunting me.

I want to make things right with her, but I just do not know what I can say or do to make it any better. What I did was inexcusable and I do not deserve another chance.

But I want another chance. I can't stand not being on good terms with her. God, I miss her so much.

I picked up my phone that was lying on my lap. I scrolled through my contacts until it fell on Becca's name. I opened the message box, my fingers hovering over the keyboard on my phone. I typed a few words but before I hit send, I reread the message and deleted it.

There was no point in texting her because she wasn't going to respond. She might not even read the message if she sees that it is from me. So, I grabbed my keys from my dresser and headed out the door.

I had to go see her in person and make things right.

I didn't even have a plan to what I was going to say or do. I don't even know if she's even at her house which is where I'm headed. All I know is that I need to see her and talk to her. The rest will come on it's own.

I drummed my fingers against the steering wheel in angst, nervous to what is going to happen. I know I am going to have to put up a fight to talk with her because she is not going to want to see me. I don't care though, because I will do what ever it takes to get her to listen to me and make things right.

When I pulled up to her driveway, I was relieved to see her car parked, meaning that she was home. Now, I just need her to not slam the door in my face when she sees I'm at her door. I get out of my truck and walk up to He front door. Anxiously, I knock on the door.

Her mom opened the door, with a surprise look on her face and a hand on her growing belly she smiled. "Matt, it is a surprise to see you. Are you here for Becca?"

"Yes, ma'am. I was wondering if I could talk to her." Becca's mom has always been so kind to me. Our moms always wanted us together and now I'm starting to see that maybe we could be great.

She frowned, "She is with a friend right now."

My face fell, "Oh,"

"I'm sorry Matt, if it is really important you are welcome to stay and wait for her. She should be here soon."

I shook my head and gratefully smiled at her, "Nah, it's okay. It can wait, thank you anyways."

"No problem Matt. Tell your mom I said hello."

"Will do," She waved goodbye and shut the door. Well, that was a fail. I had finally got up the nerve to say I'm sorry and to make things right, and she wasn't even at home. It was dark outside and getting late. I guess that means I should just leave it alone and move on.

As I turned to walk back to my truck, I see bright headlights and a car pull into the driveway behind my truck. Becca gets out of the passenger side and walks towards me. Since it was dark, she probably couldn't tell it was me, so far we were doing good.

"Matt? What are you doing here?" Becca's confused voice shook me out of my thoughts. Even in a pink hoodie and skinny jeans, she still looked as pretty as always.

"I wanted to talk." I let out a breath I didn't even realize I was holding. I was nervous, but I needed to keep in under control.
