Chapter 9

"By now you'd know that I'd come for you
No one but you, yes I'd come for you
But only if you told me to
And I'd fight for you
I'd lie, it's true
Give my life for you
You know I'd always come for you." - I'd come for you - Nickelback

It was Homecoming week at school. Which is also known as fun week at Middleton High School. Every student looks forward to this week including the sorta of anti social people like me. You would think that the only people that would enjoy Homecoming week would be football players but I have to say, I enjoy it too.

All week the whole student body at my school have been involved in different activities. Every year we have a competition between the grades and of course the seniors always strive to go big and beyond in every competition to win.

Not every year do seniors actually win but this year our grade as excelled in every competition we have played in. We have done tug of war, corn hole, dodgeball, and powderpuff football.

Vanessa and I had a blast playing this year and our senior class has done very well this year and we won the Homecoming Week Trophy!

"Hey ladies," Kyle said as he walked up beside Vanessa and I. He wrapped one arm around my shoulder as we walked. Vanessa raised her eyebrows at us but I chose to ignore it and so did Kyle. "Are you two coming to the big game tonight?"

Vanessa and I nodded. "That's the plan so far." I told him.

He removed his arm from my shoulders and I immediately started missing the warmth from his body.

"You can find me in the student section and sit with us if you want." He said with a hopeful smile.

I looked to Vanessa to see if that sounded good for her and she smiled and nodded, "Alright, I guess we are sitting in the student section tonight."

"I'll save you two a spot. See ya tonight!" He smiled then headed off into another direction where his friends were.

Vanessa linked arms with me as we walked through the parking lot to our cars. "You have some explaining to do girl!"

I chuckled and rolled my eyes then began to tell her how I went to a party with Kyle and we danced.

"...but even though we shared a sexy dance, our friendship is still the same. He hasn't treated me any different than before that night. It's aggravating and relieving at the same time. If that makes any sense." I said with a laugh. It's true, Kyle really hasn't acted any different with me since the party last Friday night. It does sorta disappoint me because I have slowly started developing a crush on him. But I'm not sure he is feeling the same. But it relieves me because I like our growing friendship and I would hate for anything to mess that up.

"It does and I'm totally calling it right now that you two will be together by Spring Break at the least."

I shook my head, "I doubt it, we are just friends and he is a big flirt. We just had some fun the other night, that's really it."

"I disagree, I think he likes you B, and you can deny it all you want but I see it." She tells me.

"Well I don't want you to get your hopes up because I don't think we will start dating." I said with a shrug.

She wagged a finger at me, "Is it because you're so wrapped up with Matt right now?"

"What? No. I haven't talked to him since the date. I don't know what's going on with him right now."
