Happy late Valentine's Day! Hope all you love birds out there had a great day!
Chapter 6
"When your lips are on my lips
Then our hearts beat as one
But you slip out of my fingertips
Every time you run" - Give your heart a break - Demi LovatoAll week I have been a ball of nerves about my date with Matt. This was technically my first real date unless you count prom last year. But I didn't even like my prom date in that way so it wasn't really a date.
So yeah, I was nervous. Not to mention that it's Matt Smith, the guy I've been crushing on for three years now.
It's been five days since my birthday and since Matt asked me out on a date. When I told my mom she was ecstatic about it and my dad pretended he wasn't real happy about it but he wasn't the best at hiding the fact that he was relieved in a way.
It's good to know that my family has absolutely no faith in me when it comes to romantic relationships.
I think I was more nervous telling Austin that I was going on a date with Matt more than telling my parents. Obviously Austin wasn't the biggest supporter of me being with him and I know it concerns him a bit but I explained to Austin that I am a big girl and can take care of myself despite the fact that I usually end up hurt when it comes to Matt.
As far as Kyle goes, I was afraid that he would never want to be around me and my weird family ever again after my birthday dinner but it turns out he meant what he said about still wanting to be around me. We have a blast in Physics everyday and I have to say, he gives great advice.
He found out about my date so all week he's been prepping me so I don't completely blow it with Matt. Kyle knows of Matt since they play against each other in sports and even though Kyle wishes that I didn't date someone that goes to our rival school, he seemed to approve of Matt. It was weird at first to talk about another guy with Kyle, he didn't seem to mind and continue to talk with me about it. Even though my relationship with Matt was starting to progress well, I still couldn't hide the fact that I was beginning to develop a crush on Kyle.
It's kinda hard not to because he is literally perfect and because he can be a flirt.
I turn the water off in my shower and blindly reach for a towel hanging on a rack. My date was in about two hours and Vanessa would be here any minute to help me get ready. It's actually quite funny how even though she doesn't like Matt real well, she still insists on helping me get ready for this date. I didn't really need the help but I decided to humor her and let her help me.
As predicted, she was sitting on my bed when I walked in from my connected bathroom.
She clapped her hands together when she saw me and grinned, "Let's get started sista."
I rolled my eyes but decided to make the best out of it and enjoy being pampered instead of doing it myself.
"I've already picked out my outfit so don't even think about going towards my closet." I playfully scolded her.
"But what if I don't like it? It's not like you're an expert on what to wear on dates like I am."
I ignored her comment because even though she might be sounding like a bitch, I know she means well.
I showed her the white sun dress I had picked out to wear. It was technically a summer dress but its still warm outside and with it being in the middle of the day, I figured it would be appropriate.
It came to my mid thigh and had a thin black belt that went around the waist. It was a cute but simple summer dress that happened to be one of my favorite out of the few dresses that I own.
