Chapter 10
"And it's two a.m. and I'm cursing your name
I'm so in love that I acted insane
And that's the way I loved you
Breakin' down and coming undone
It's a roller coaster kinda rush
And I never knew I could feel that much" - That's the way I loved you - Taylor Swift
Halloween is tomorrow and I have no plans what so ever. That's how boring my life is. I guess I'll be having a date with my bed, Netflix, and ice cream. But hey, I'm okay with that.
I plopped down in my seat in my physics class, hoping Kyle was at school today. I hadn't seen him at all today but that doesn't exactly mean he isn't here. I normally don't see him until this class anyways unless I happen to pass him in the hallway which is rare.
Thankfully, he strolled in and sat in his seat. He was grinning and that made me smile because that meant he was in a good mood. I haven't seen him in a bad mood much but yesterday he was pissed off at the world and barely spoken a word to me all class.
But today seemed to be different and I was glad.
"Hey!" I exclaimed when he stole my pencil from my desk. "Give that back."
He shook his head and grinned, "Nope,"
I groaned, "You're an ass,"
"Tell me something I don't know." He shot back. I rolled my eyes and tried to fight the smile that was trying to form. He was so hard to be angry at. Turning my attention from him, I picked up my phone.
"I'll give you your pencil back," he started and I perked up. He held his finger up, "But only if you agree to something."
I eyed him carefully, "And what would that be?" There is no telling what it would be and I'm a little scared to find out. All this for a freaking pencil.
"You have to agree to come with me to Drake's house for a Halloween bonfire tomorrow night."
I thought about it and I was conflicted. Of course I want to go and be with Kyle but his friends sometimes intimidate me and I try to limit how much time I spend around them. And I was kind of looking forward to spending my night with Chuck and Blair on Gossip Girl.
Kyle was waiting patiently for my answer and I knew that if I didn't agree to go with him then I wouldn't get my pencil back. I wouldn't be too worried about getting it back if it wasn't for the fact that it was the only pencil that I had and I really needed one to do my work.
"Fine," I said giving in. "I'll go with you to the bonfire."
He grinned and tossed my pencil back on my desk. "I was planning on giving you your pencil back anyways but since you agreed then there is no taking it back. You're going."
I scoffed at him, "I hate you."
"No you don't, you love me." He winked before turning open his notebook and beginning his work.
I shook my head at him. He is something else, I tell you.
He might have manipulated me into coming with him to this bonfire but I'm sure I will have fun. At least I will get to hang out with him for the night.
----
Kyle showed up in my driveway the next night at seven like he promised to pick me up for the bonfire.
