Chapter 13
"Just give me that touch, I want it
Quit talking so much, I'm ready
Stop moving your lips and kiss me
Keep taking my breath away
Cause you make me speechless
You quiet my demons
So why don't we hold tonight and just kill me silently" - Speechless - Rachel PlattenI woke up the next morning with a sore neck from sleeping in a really uncomfortable chair by Austin's hospital bed. He was still sleeping but his mom was awake and sipping her morning coffee.
I stretched my arms and muscles and yawned, "Becca, why don't you go home for a while? We will be leaving here soon anyways." His mom said quietly.
I sighed, "I guess I could go check on Kyle then head home. I'm still very tired."
She chuckled, "I am too. I was awake most of the night making sure Austin was okay. You know how his diabetes makes me a nervous wreck."
Austin having diabetes worries me like crazy but I couldn't imagine how worried his mom is about the situation.
"He's okay now Jen, you should get some rest too."
She sighed and smiled sadly while looking at her son sound asleep in the hospital bed, "I will, just not right now."
I hugged her, "Tell him I'll come by the house later to check on him."
She nodded, "Of course, come by anytime."
I left his room to only turn the corner to go to Kyle's room. He was already awake and ready to leave. Thankfully his and Austin's condition was only bad enough for them to stay one night and then they could go home.
Kyle was currently arguing with the nurse and his mom about having to ride in a wheel chair to the car. It was hospital rules and he wasn't having it. It was funny to watch Kyle argue about something stupid as this but I can understand why Kyle doesn't want to.
"I'm perfectly fine." Kyle argued. "I don't need to be rolled out in a wheel chair!" He wasn't "perfectly fine" but he was capable of walking out the door on his own. He still was beaten up and bruised and will be until he heals. He does have a few bruised ribs that the doctors found last night but he just needed to rest and take it easy for a few days then he will be fine.
"Kyle, it's the rules and they will not let you leave until you follow them." His mom told him sternly.
He stayed silent and his mom threw her hands up, clearly done arguing with her stubborn son and walked away. She saw me by the door and sighed. "Maybe you can talk some sense in him. He's being extra stubborn today."
I chuckled, "I'll try my best."
She left to go finish some paperwork which left me with a pissed off and ill Kyle.
He was pouting as he sat in the chair and if we weren't in the hospital right now I would laugh at him and tell him to grow the hell up but since he's had a rough fifteen hours, I decided to be nice.
"How about we make it fun. I can roll you out in the wheelchair and we can race or something?" I suggested.
"I'm not getting in that fucking wheelchair." He said.
Well okay then.
I rolled my eyes, "Come on Kyle, it's literally you riding in the wheel chair for like two minute tops."
