Chapter 3

"If you've got a Friday night free and a shotgun seat
Well I'm just saying I ain't got nowhere to be
So baby I'll take whatever it is you've got to give
Yeah, I'm calling dibs" - Dibs - Kelsea Ballerini

You know that feeling deep in you stomach when your parents tell you they need to talk to you? You feel like you may throw up and you start to shake in nervous. You try to think of all the things you could have done wrong that you might get in trouble for. Yeah that's me right now.

When I got home from school today, all I could really think about was the fact that it was Friday and in just a few short hours, I'll see Matt again. I was already on the verge of a nervous breakdown and then my mom informs me that she needs to have a serious talk with me, my brother, and sister.

I'm kinda freaking out.

I told my mom that I was going to Brookwood's game to watch Matt play. She was alright with it because she knows his family and knows we have always been friends. Little does she know that we have always been more than just friends.

I bounded down the steps to the living room where my parents and my younger siblings were sitting. I was still quite nervous as to what they could want to talk to us about but I felt a little at ease when I saw the smile on their faces.

At least their not mad.

"What time are you planning on leaving for the game?" My mom, Rebecca, asked me. I'm not sure if you have noticed a pattern in our names. I'm obviously named after my mom since her name is Rebecca and mine is Becca. My brother Reece is named after Austin's family and my sister Cate is named after my grandmother whose name is Caitlyn.

"I was hoping to leave in about twenty minutes or so." I said looking at the clock and noticing that the game starts in about an hour.

She nodded and then she looked at my father, Richard, with a smile.

"Well kids," she started, "We have some news to share with you."

I exchanged glances with Reece and Cate who was just sitting there in her own little world.

"You're going to have another little brother or little sister running around. Mommy has a baby in her tummy." My mom said pointing to her stomach.

What? I'm going to be a big sister again?

We all had different reactions but I think we all were shocked except my mom and dad who already knew and gotten over the news.

Call me crazy, but I was actually excited  to have another little brother or sister. I already have two, what's one more?

I broke out into a grin and hugged my mom and dad, "Congratulations! I'm very excited!"

My brother started smiling, "My prayers worked! Maybe this time I'll have a little brother."

We all let out a laugh. For years my brother has asked for a little brother. One time he even wrote on our mom's grocery list saying he wanted a little brother.

I think Cate was a little confused at first but when we explained it to her, she broke out into a grin just like us and started jumping up and down.

I checked the time and I really needed to go. I gave my parents another hug of excitement and left the house. Once I got in my car, I let out a breath. Well, that news wasn't what I was expecting but I am excited.

It's been a while since we have had a baby around the house and since I'm older, I'm really excited about it. I can't wait to tell Austin the news!
