After dropping Jayson off at the noodle bar, I head home on the brink of crying. The funny thing is, I'm not crying for me. I'm crying for Jayson. The way he told me that his problems aren't for me. How can they not be? Jayson and I are going out now so it's more of my business. I'm just looking out for him.

But what if I'm nagging too much? I have noticed that Jayson gets a bit irritated with me when I nag hi, about things. For example, when he told me not to pick him up because he was just going to swing home I was going to protest because though the doctors said Jayson is healed, doesn't mean he can just go on ahead and continue putting himself at risk. It's not fair. Nothing is fair! Why Jayson? He's so kind and sweet and...he wasn't even born in America yet he puts himself at risk almost every day and flies through the city, helping helpless souls. That's some major shit!

At a stop light, I pull out my phone, hearing the little text message tone.

Opening up the message, I notice it's from Sean.

hey. come by my place. There's just a few ppl here, y'know Derrick, Gina, Ryan, Selena...yuP. It's not a party. Just, hurry!

A party? I told dad I'd straight back home but...whatever. I need to take my mind off things for a while. Plus, he's probably not even home.

Pressing gently on the accelerate pedal, my car slowly moves forward as a dial dad's number.

He doesn't pick up - no surprise - so I just call the house phone.

"What's up?" Jacob picks up.

"Oh hey," I smile, glad it's him and not Carey. "Where's dad?"

"Where do you think?" Jacob snorts.

"Duh," I say, irritated. "Well, when he gets home - "

I hear giggling in the background along with shuffling.

"Ugh Jacob, please tell me you don't have another girl home!" I groan, looking at my driveway. No extra cars...Plus, the last time he had a girl home, I wore her shirt and smelled like sex for the rest of the day. What? It was cute and Jacob's girls are always forgetting clothes!

"Hmm?" He says absentmindedly.

I roll my eyes.

"Just tell dad I stopped to get ice cream," I quickly tell him, parking near Sean's house. Looking down the street, I notice that there really aren't many cars. Well, his drive way is big. I notice his and a few others including...Oh no! Blue. God help me.

"Dian - Okay bye!"

Beep! Beep! Beep!

Rolling my eyes, I text Sean back that I've arrived.

Stepping out into the cold, dry December air, I slam my car door shut and make my way to the tall gates that resemble mine.

Opening them, I continue walking up the long driveway and to the fancy house. I hear low murmuring and laughs inside as I knock on the door.

"You made it!" Sean smiles warmly down at me. I know Sean's tall but it's moments like these that take me by surprise. As we smile at each other, I have to tilt my head upward a lot just to look him in the eyes. When we hug, I have to stand on my toes. He's just so tall! Probably a good 6" 1'. I'm only 5" 51/2'.

"Yeah," I smile. He grabs my waist playfully and carries my inside. I hear running and laughing nearby. "Am I late? Sorry, I had to call my brother for something."
