Chapter Nine ~ One Month Later

"You've been staying here for about a month now." Jeremy said. I immediately sensed that he was uneasy. He doesn't want me here anymore does he? I quickly picked up my mug and sipped a brown liquid that is called coffee. "It's not that I don't love you being here.. I do.. It's just uh.. Uh.. Um... I will actually be starting work tomorrow and uh... You can come with me if you want... Or you can stay with uh.. Etan.." I almost spit out the coffee, but I swallowed it down and gently put the mug on the table.

"You know how I feel about Etan. I dislike him very much. And as long as it is okay with you, I would like to go with you to your work." I said nervously. He sighed of relief and put his arm around me. I was used to this kind of thing, he always puts his arms around me for no reason. It's strange, but I allow him to.

"Thank god... I didn't want to send you to Etan for one, because he eats the strangest things; two, he doesn't live in a very nice place; and three, because he kissed you your first night here." He said.

"Calm down." I laughed, "It's fine.. You are a really nice friend, and I hope we stay friends, even when I go back to my home." I whispered that last part quietly, but he heard me. He froze in place and went pale. I poked his shoulder with worry. "Hey... Jeremy? Jeremy are you okay?" He stumbled backwards ad almost fell, but a caught him.

I've been holding back on my strength... I could easily hold him up... I could pick him up and hold him above my head if I wanted to, but I just picked him up and held him like a baby. I quickly walked upstairs and put him in his bed. I slowly put his head down on the pillow and then quickly ran downstairs to grab an icepack from the freezer.

When I ran back upstairs, Jeremy was in the exact place that I left him, so I quickly walked over and lay the ice down on his forehead. I placed my hand in his and kneeled down beside him. What if he doesn't come to? What will I do?

After a few hours of him laying there passed out, he began coming to. I stood up from where I was sitting on the floor beside him.

"What... What am I doing in my bed?" He asked groggily. I took his hand in mine and smiled at him.

"You passed out... So I brought you upstairs and lay you down in bed." I said. There was a look of confusion on his face. I was used to seeing this expression because every time I did something that wasn't exactly normal for a human female to do, he wasn't used to it and I assume he doesn't understand how I can do all those things.

"You? You carried me all the way from the kitchen to my bedroom?" He asked. I nodded in response. "What are you? Some kind of freak with super strength or something?"

"Um... Something along those lines." I said nervously. What else could I say? It's not like he would be totally fine with me being a dragon... I would sound insane! Maybe I should just call Tony... "I am going to go call Tony..." I stood up and walked out towards the study to where the house phone was. I'm still not exactly sure how to use them... But Jeremy has taught me how...

I picked it up and pressed the buttons with the numbers on them in the order of Tony's number. Then pressed the little green button and put the phone to my ear. I heard a few rings and then I heard Tony's voice.

"Hello?" He said.

"Tony? It's me... Ekiria... Um... Jeremy kind of passed out and I don't know what to do." I said.

"Okay. Delilah and I will be right over." He said.

"Well, he is kind I awake now but he is talking nonsense."

"Okay.. We'll see you in a bit. Is the door unlocked?"

"It should be."

"Okay. Don't bother coming down when we get there. We'll just come inside. Are you in his room or the living room?"

"His room."

"Okay, bye"

"Bye." And I heard a click. I sighed with relief and I put the phone back. I say I used that thing pretty well for my first try. I smiled to myself and waked back into Jeremy's room.

About ten minutes later I heard the door open from downstairs and two pairs of feet heading up the stairs. I stayed at my place beside Jeremy, he had gone out-cold again.

Delilah quietly walked into his room and smiled at me. She and I have become good friends. She taught me how to play video games, and she always laughs when she beats me at them. Her light brown curls with purple tips always bounced around when she laughed. She was really pretty, and a pretty good friend too.

I have become good friends with Tony, Jeremy, and Delilah. I'm glad too, even though Once I go back home I will never be able to see then again. I don't know what is is about Jeremy though... He is always so sweet to me. I always get 'butterflies' in my stomach when I'm with him... And that's most of the time. It's strange, I've never felt anything like it before.

"Come on, Tony is a doctor. Lets go downstairs and let him see what's up with Jeremy." Delilah said. I nodded and followed her downstairs and we sat on the sofa together. "So what's up with you and Jeremy?"

I looked at her confused. "What do you mean? What about Jeremy?" I asked. She looked at me with that 'you know what I'm talking about' kind of look.

"I mean, what's going on between you two? It's obvious that you two are head over heels for each other." She said and then she laughed. I looked at her again with confusion. She sighed of annoyance. "You two like each other."

"Of course we like each other... We are friends." I said. She shook her head.

"No, you're not getting what I'm saying.. You two LOVE each other." She said. I stared at her with disbelief... How could she say something like that? I could never love Jeremy... He.. He.. He doesn't believe in what I am!

Me? And Jeremy? No. No no no no no no no no no no no... I have a duty... I have to mate with Raziel. It's the only way... I can't fall in love with a human... It's not normal. It's unbelievable! I won't do it... There has to be a way out of it...
