Chapter Twelve ~ The Truth
"You thinking what I'm thinking?" Raz asked, and I smirked and nodded. We were still in the clearing, standing in front of Jeremy. I hope he doesn't freak out.. Or maybe it's better is he freaks out.. Then he will run away scared and we can leave in a hurry, covering our tracks on the way back. It would be as if we were never here...
But I don't think I would be able to live with myself if we leave like that.. So I went up to Raz, and whispered what I was going to do in his ear, and he nodded in approval.
I stepped towards Jeremy, taking hold of his hand, and I leaned in and kissed him. He was startled at first, I can't imagine what it feels like to him... But he immediately kissed me back. I pulled away and put my lips up to his ear and whispered, "I think I have deep feelings for you... And I am sorry.. For leaving and never coming back. But it needs to be done." I brought my face back to his, and I kissed him one last time, before releasing my hand from his grip and stepping back to be next to Raz again.
"You ready?" Raz said so quietly, that I know he meant to ask it to me. I nodded and took formation, sitting criss cross in the wet morning dew on the green grass. I felt Raz take his form next to me, and we began saying the transformation spell. As we were saying it, the winds began to blow, the trees were growing their leaves quicker than ever, and the lake was unfreezing really fast.
When we finished, we sat in silence as we waited for our form to come. I felt a hot presence enter my body and I immediately winced in pain.
The power... I could feel it shredding my skin.. I could feel myself getting taller and taller, and the pain was excruciating. It felt like a million wasps were stinging you over and over and over again... And something was just ripping the flesh clean off your bones.
When the pain finally stopped, I knew I wasn't human anymore... I was myself...
I looked over at Raz who was his full red scaled self. I smiled at him widely and screeched as loud as I could. The sound I was making kind of sounded like a dying bird... It was the sound of dragons.
Oh snap! Jeremy is still down there...
I turned my head and noticed Jeremy staring up at me like I was a unicorn or something... His face was just plain shock. I wasn't too big, of course, I was only about two feet taller than a large horse...
My white scales shimmered in the sun, and felt my wings lift me off the ground. I really missed this... Being me...
"Okay... What trick is this?" Jeremy called up to me. I gently landed on the ground and I got as close to him as possible.
"Look me in the eye Jeremy... Do you really think that this is a trick?" I said.
"We need to leave... Now.. I can sense it... The guards are coming.." Raz called down to me, he was up in the air looking around. I felt a shiver go through my body.. I sensed it too.
"I am not a fake." I said, before taking off into the sky, and I went up to where Raz was looking around. "Is it safe to pass?"
"Could you cast a rain spell? It's going to be impossible to get by unless we have a cover, and we cast the invisibility spell.... But we still need to be stealthy.. And take our time.. They will expect us you to hurry on through..
"Ill make a distraction and you hurry through the portal and make your way to your den. They know I'm already here, looking as well... But they don't know I found you."
I nodded in understanding and cast a big storm spell. It's going to be tuff making my way to the portal... But I at least have Raz'a help... So that shod make it a bit easier right?
