Chapter Three ~ Escape

As I lay down next to Raz, an I draw came to my mind. This storm could possibly be the best cover for me to escape the Dragon Realm and go into the human world... I would need to perfect my invisibility spell for when I first fly out until I find a spot to transform, but it could work just swell!

I would need Jaziel's help... He would need to cover me, as I have not perfected the invisibility spell quite yet. He is permitted to leave the realm, so he will not be punished if he is seen crossing into the portal. He can take me all the way through the portal, and he could leave me in the human world! This plan could fail horribly... And that would cause both Jaz and I to be in a heap of trouble. But I am sure that he would be willing to help me with this. It's one of the few things that I ever ask him to do for me...

~~~
"You're crazy! You know I would help you with anything Ria, but not this... This is you going someplace you are forbidden to go! And if you get caught, then you could be destroyed! It's been thousands of years since a dragon broke the rules... And no one ever wants to talk about it. Don't you ever wonder why?" Shouted Jaz. I rolled my eyes and continued to listen to him give me 'advice'. "You I cannot believe that you were actually thinking of going through with this!
"You do know that I am not going to help you with something like this. It is too dangerous and you could get into deeper trouble than you ever have before. I am not letting you leave the dragon realm!" He continued.
"Listen, I know you're only looking out for me and-"
"I am doing more than looking out for you Ekiria..." he cut me off. "If you get banished, or worse, I don't know what I would do without my best friend! You are one of the most important things to me and I am not willing-"
"Raziel, calm down. I am not going to get caught. I am still going even if you don't help me. It is something I have to do... I cannot just stay here in this realm my entire life... I have to know what else is out there. I have learned about the way they live and the way they act. I can pass off as a human... Please... Please don't stop me from doing this." I said. I couldn't look up at him, so I just kept my head down and stared at the floor beneath my claws. I heard him sigh.
"Okay... I will not stop you from going. But you cannot expect me to help you with this... I am truly sorry. But-" I cut him off.
"It is okay. I cannot ask you to do something you do not wish to do. I will leave on my own. Thank you Raz, ill be back soon." I said. I turned to leave, but before I did I turned back around and nuzzled my head into his neck. "This is goodbye for now, my friend. I will see you very soon." I said. I backed away from him and slowly turned and walked out into the rain.
This is it... This might be my only chance at leaving. It is going to be much easier to sneak back in that it is trying to sneak out...
I opened my wings and took to the skies once again. I cast the invisibility spell as I approached the guards by the gates. I easily slipped by them and crawled through a crack in the wall. The giant light blue colored walls were slowly cracking away, so it was easy to find a place to crawl in though. When I crawled out of the hole I stood in awe as I looked up at the rock formations surrounding the portal.
They were white as the clouds in the sky, yet they had a faint grey swirl in them. They were all perched like teeth... Protecting the mouth of the portal. I quickly ran over to them and began to open my wings to fly over them. I easily maneuvered over them and I was above the portal. I smiled in relief and dived straight into it, not regretting a single thing.
I did it! I passed by the walls, the guards, and I made it into the portal! Finally! Now I can finally be free to explore this world on my own... And not by looking at pictures of things in dusty old books at the Bookeepers cave...
