Chapter Ten ~ Raz?
I walked around the big grass field. A month ago it was covered in snow... Now there is only a few small patches here and there. The trees had little bits of green on them and Spring was on its way.
"Well you sure look happy here." Said a said voice... I know that voice anywhere... I turned around to come face to face with a tall boy, with dark tan skin and dark brown hair with the same caring hazel eyes. I smiled at the sight of my friend and I immediately wrapped my arms around him instinctively.
"I've missed you Raz." I said. I felt his arms tighten around me and I immediately missed this... Our 'relationship'... We always need to pretend that we are already mates, mostly because Raz is a tad bit behind in his studies and we cannot continue with the official mating process until he is caught up with them.
"I've missed you too Kia." He said. I could feel his warm breathing on my neck, and for a moment it felt like the world was frozen in this exact moment in time. But it didn't last, because. He eventually let go. "You need to return to the Dragon Realm as soon as possible Kia..." He said as his face grew serious. I pulled my eyebrows together in confusion and looked up at him.
"Why? What has happened?" I asked.
"The rain has stopped and they are doing an immediate check on all the Dragons... You will be last along with the other females, but you need to return Ekiria..." He said in a hushed tone.
This was not good. I cannot return yet... I have not even said goodbye to Jeremy... I fell to my knees and sat there for a few moments before Raz kneeled down beside me.
"You need to come home." He whispered, so low that I barely heard him.
"I... I cant." I said. I heard him sigh and I looked up into the mesmerizing hazel eyes and they were full of sadness. His whole face had just an expression of pure sadness... I hated seeing Raz like this... He is too good of a friend and I hate seeing him in pain.
"Why not?" He asked sincerely. I looked away from him and looked at the green grass by my feet that was still wet with morning dew.
"I think... I think I have fallen in love with a human..." I whispered that last part so low.. But I know he heard me.
"I love you." He said. That seriously took me by surprise. Raz and I never had any more feelings towards each other more than friendship... I guess those feelings only went one way...
"I am so sorry..." I whispered. His hand took a firm, yet gentle, hold on my chin and he pulled my head up so I was looking at him. His face had a smile on it, but I could see the pain in his eyes...
"It is okay." He said. "I want you to be happy, no matter what you choose. But I cannot leave you here for the Elders to find you. You must come home before they realize that we have disappeared." I nodded.
"Can I at least say goodbye to Jeremy?" I asked. He smiled a sad smile and nodded, then kissed my forehead. I wrapped my arms around him one more time, before I stood up and began slowly walking to Jeremy's house.
How am I going to tell him? 'Yeah hey, I need I leave now. I will never see you again, oh and I love you' and then just leave? No.. That would break him... I know he has feelings for me as well... But does he love me back?
