Chapter Eighteen ~ Tomorrow
I paced back and forth in Jeremy's living room, while he and Raz went out for food. There has to be another way to do this right? I mean, if Lythe really did send out Sabas, then we would all be screwed. Sabas is the greatest hunter alive, and he will stop at nothing to get what he wants. If Jazix really does care for me, then why did she tell Lythe? It's bad enough already.. We shouldn't have a hunter on our trail.
While I paced back and forth, I heard the door open and shut. but there was a problem, only one set of footsteps were walking towards where I was. When the person walked out to where I could see them, I realized it was Scarrlet.
"Oh, what are you doing here?" she said with disgust. I rolled my eyes, an continued to pace back and forth. "I'm serious! You are not staying here anymore, so why are you pacing in my living room?!"
"Because Jeremy invited me in, why else? Scarrlet, I'm sorry for whatever I did to make you dislike me, but now is really not the time to anger me." I said to her, while I continued pacing. There were more footsteps outside, and I sighed in relief as I heard Jeremy's voice. When they both stepped inside, Scarrlet scoffed and stomped upstairs, probably to her bed room.
"What's wrong with her?" I heard Raz ask, and I giggled at his words.
"She just has a really bad temper.." Jeremy stated as they walked into the living room where I was pacing. He looked up and smiled at me, and I could feel my cheeks get hot.
"Jeremy and I have been talking, there is really no other option but to erase his memory Ria. We were thinking maybe we could hide him out somewhere, but no matter where we hide him Sabas will eventually find him. There's also the option of staying to fight, but that would result in all of us being killed. It's our only option Ekiria.. but it's up to you if you want to go through with it." Raz stated. I nodded, but continued pacing.
"There has to be another way! Our days are up tomorrow! We have no more time... Here is a question, would we be able to convince Sabas that he doesn't remember anything?" I asked.
"That would propose another problem, because Sabas has never really been the talkative type."
"Why don't you just let him come?" Jeremy said. I looked at him with disbelief. Did he really just consider that an option? Doesn't he know that I wouldn't be able to live with myself!?
"That isn't going to be an option, not now, not ever." I stated darkly. I don't care if he wants to die, he isn't going to. I won't let him.
We went on talking like this back and forth to each other, trying to consider any other options we had. But we always found a way for us to either die, or Jeremy die, and neither of those are going to happen. There really is only one option.. but will I be ready to do it when the time came?
Sabas will arrive tomorrow, for that is the beginning of a new day in the dragon realm. It won't take him long to find us, let's just hope we can convince him that Jeremy won't remember anything.
So many things can go wrong tomorrow, so many. There are so many things on my mind, and I don't think I will be able to go through with the plan. What if Sabas doesn't care, and he kill Jeremy anyway? Or what if he leaves Jeremy alone, but then Raz ends up getting killed instead, just because he was here with me?
We have to do this right, and I sure hope we can convince Sabas. Otherwise, we might all be dead by tomorrow evening.
