I've mentioned before that I want to write a sequel to this story, and I'm glad to say that this is the 'official' announcement. It's still in a proof reading phase, but I'm hoping to release the first few chapters by the end of next month.

I have most of the details figured out and let's just say that 1, my writing has greatly improved from this story; and 2, I've planned on making it much longer and with more twists and turns as it plays out.

Here's a little sneak peak::

It wasn't long before it came. The darkness. A long time ago it was years away, and she never had a reason to believe that they would bother her again. But now, there was a war coming and she could feel it with every bone in her body. The wolves howled from midnight until dawn, the crows would caw at the open air in front of them as if there was an invisible threat that no one but then could envision. The edge of the lake, the place where it had all begun all those years ago, it would be where it would end.

He needn't know about this new found information, it would only worry him. The visions that she'd seen, all the red and black, the lifeless dead bodies of her old kin and new. They were there, and that is where the gods intended them to die. He was there, her old friend, buried among the bodies of everyone else, a glazed look in his eyes and his scales quickly loosing color with each minute that passed. Not this. This isn't what she'd wanted, this isn't what she'd prayed for.

The fire she had kindled more than a decade ago burned brighter than it had back then. It had been a cause that was understood by her mother, a cause that was understood by her friend, a cause that was understood by her lover. Death isn't what she wanted, but maybe this time there needed to be bloodshed.
