"Holy shit..." Charlie whispers, with his arms still around my waist. Although the time is not right for this, I like it. I slightly tense up in his arms. He slowly lowers his arms and I sigh, step away slightly. "Is that..." He says, pointing at Ryan and staring at me.
I look down and nod. "Yes that's Ryan Ross." I say. He looks down at me confused.
"Are they friends again?" He asks, I shake my head. "Then why is he here?" He asks, crossing his arms and looking me in the eyes. I look away and at Ryan who nods, giving me a nervous look. I look back at Charlie who was wearing a serious look. "Syd, explain." He says, I take a deep breath.
"Well, Ryan came to the door last month. He was going to try to be friends with Brendon again but he wasn't home. He was going to ask Brendon if he could use the studio." I hug myself with my arms. "I made a deal with him. Every time he used the studio, he would pay me thirty five dollars." I look back at Charlie who stares down at me.
"This has been happening for a month?" He asks, I nod. "And no one else knows." I nod again. "Syd, that's insane! What if Brendon finds out?" He says nervously, I shrug and sigh.
"I never really thought of that." I said truthfully. Oh my god, what would Brendon do if he found out? He would probably get really mad. He gets angry really easily too. Oh god, I should of thought this. I look back at Charlie. "Charlie I swear to god, do not tell anyone," I threaten, he looks down at me like I'm crazy.
"Syd, you know I wouldn't tell anyone. I'm just surprised, what if he's trying to steal the new album." He says, pointing at Ryan.
"I would never do that!" He says, offended. I look back at Charlie.
"Listen, I trust him. I trust you not to tell anyone about this, okay?" I said with a serious look on my face. He notices that I'm being serious and sighs. "Is that clear?" I ask, putting my hands on my hips.
"Yes it is." He says, looking over at Ryan who stares at us with wide eyes. He starts to walk over to us.
"So I guess you know who I am." He says, chuckling slightly. He sticks out his hand. "Now who are you?" Charlie takes his hand and shakes it.
"I'm Charlie." He says, slightly in shock. Ryan looks at us before crossing his arms and tilting his head.
"Are you two..." He says, pointing between us. It takes me a moment to get what he's saying. My eyes get wide and I look up at Charlie. His get wide too and he looks back at Ryan.
"No no no no no, we're just friends." He says, blushing a little. Ryan smiles and looks at me.
"Well I'm going to go get my laptop so I can work on some stuff." He said, walking to the door. "I'll be right back." He said, opening to door. Once he leaves, Charlie grabs my shoulders and looks me in the eyes.
"Are you insane!? Do you even know why they stopped being friends? He could have stolen songs. Maybe that's why he 'left' the band!" Charlie whispers seriously. I sigh.
"Charlie we talked about this." I said. I try to shrug off his hands but it doesn't work. "Plus, I've checked the computers multiple times. Everything's there."
"Syd, this could go terribly wrong. Why did he pick Brendon's studio out of anyone else's?" He asks.
"Because it was going to be cheaper than any other studio. And he was going to repair his friendship with Brendon. Charlie, you are taking this way too seriously! I should be the one worrying, not you. I'm not worried." I said, saying the last three words very slowly to get the point across. Charlie let's his hands fall back to his sides and he sighs.
"I'm sorry, I overreacted. I kinda do that a lot." He says, smiling slightly. I smile at him.
"It's okay." I said, walking closer and hugging hugging him. He flinches slightly before hugging back. "Just try to worry about your own stuff okay?" I see the door open and Ryan walk in with his computer. He stops and looks at us, a smile creeping onto his lips. He then continues to walk out the back door and into the backyard. Charlie's phone buzzes in his pocket and he pulls away. He looks down at his phone and sighs.
"I have to go, my dads mad about me walking out on our argument." He says, putting his phone back in his pocket. "I guess I'll see you later." He says. He then starts to walk to the door, patting my shoulder on the way out. After he leaves, I let out a sigh of relief. I then decide to go to the studio.
I type in the code and go in. Ryan is playing one of his songs over the speakers. It's actually pretty good, not my style of music but it's pretty good. I lean against the wall and listen until the end. He sighs and turns around in the chair. When he notices me, he jumps.
"Oh I didn't see you there." He said. I walk over to him and look at the screen.
"That was really good Ryan." I say.
"Really? You think?" He asks. I nod and smile. "Wow thanks. I just finished that one out." He said.
"Cool, what's the title?" I ask, sitting down on the other chair at the desk. He shrugs.
"I don't know yet, still thinking." He says, leaning back in the chair. "Do you have any suggestions?" He asks me. I scrunch my eyebrows together.
"I don't know, it sounds kinda summery though." I say, my phone then stops me from saying anything else. It starts buzzing in my pocket. I grab in and answer. "Hello?" I say, spinning in my chair. I put the phone on speaker.
"Hey Syd. I don't know if Zack told you but next week we have a meeting to talk about the emperors new clothes video." It's Brendon. Oh shit, I haven't even thought about that. "Do you have any ideas for the video yet?"
"Um..." I pause. "I don't really have anything" I said. He lets out a loud sigh.
"Well could you think some stuff up, soon?" He says. I look over at my drawing notebook that was conveniently sitting on one of the guitar amps.
"I will, love you." I said, hanging up. Ryan looks at me.
"He put you in charge of a music video?" He asks. I nod and get up, grabbing my notebook. "It's hard isn't it?" He says. I nod and flip through my notebook, trying to find something to at least give me an idea. "If you need any help, I'm here. Most of the panic videos we my idea until I left." He said.
I turn to the drawing I did when I first went to the studio with Brendon. That was the day I met Dallon and Kenny. I smile down at the picture.
"So this song sounds summery to you?" He asks, rubbing his eyes. I nod and continue to look at the drawing. "Ah Summer's hot as hell though, you could say my albums going to be fire then." He snaps and smirks at me and an idea sparks in my head.
To be honest with you, I had blocked out his stupid joke after I heard the work hell. By that time, am idea had popped into my head. I gasp and quickly start flipping through the pages until I get to a blank one. I rapidly start drawing. "What's up?" Ryan says. I ignore him and continue to draw a rough picture of Brendon. I make him have a devilish grin and sharp teeth. Ryan continues to stair at me, confused on what was happening. When I finished my rough drawing of my idea, I stand up and plant a kiss on his cheek. "Woah calm down."
"Thank you so much!" I said, running out the studio and into the house. I sit down at the dining table and flip the page, carrying my rough drawing to a cleaner one. This is going to be incredible.
